It's common sense!!

It's of not benefit to me and you simply because we share the same language, culture and religion with whoever the president is.
But if you talk of equity, fairness and justice, you must be realistic about that too.

Equity and fairness demands that South East be given the ticket if the South is united and truly love each other and realistic.

South East massively voted SW (Obj) in 1999 and 2003, voted South South (GEJ) massively in 2011 and 2015. Today rather than unite and present or pave way for any of the South East contenders, the SW and SS want to play smart.

But the north is smarter politically. The argument the North will use in retaining power in 2023 would be that Southern region ought to zone it to East and since they can't agree to give it to the East, it means the ticket is open, after all since 1999 till date, SW and SS have had their turn just like the NW and it would amount to have double turn for SW and SS to be allowed to have it soon again to the exclusion of North, not because they really want SE, but because Southern region has played into their hand.

Heaven will not fall but since the northerners have been ruling what have been their achievement. They mess up the whole thing.

Whatever their achievements are is their problem.
But it will be fairer if the north continues if we think SE isn't worth it.

The major parties have thrown the ticket open. In the PDP, Northerners and Southerners have bought the ticket. In the APC, Northerners and Southerners have also bought the ticket

Yoruba are not begging anyone in the south to give them the presidency either ! So what's your point ? Nobody is giving anything to anybody. If you're interested in becoming the president of Nigeria,you come out and contest for it ! It is the turn of the south to produce the next President after Buhari's tenure and nothing is going to change that. Therefore,the next President of Nigeria can come from any of the three zones in the south - west,east or south south.
You're advised to put your best man forward to contest the presidential primaries with the contenders from other zones. You claimed Yoruba were assuaged as if there were no contenders from the south east in the primary that produced Obasanjo ! As a matter of fact,it wasn't the Yoruba people that were assuaged. It was democracy, rule of law,fairness and the realisation that it was the best thing to do to keep Nigeria together as one at that time. How would a Yoruba man (MKO Abiola) contest for the presidency of Nigeria,won it and he was robbed of that electoral victory by a handful of people from a section of the country ? That was an injustice and Yoruba people deserved to be assuaged. I don't know why same should be done for Igbo people. What is your grudge exactly ?
