There are more checkpoints in the east than police stations. Some police stations have 3 checkpoints manned by same officers from a single station. Army checkpoints are at every kilometre in the east.

The attraction about this allegation of IPOB in Asaba is for them to mount more checkpoints there, the Lagos express is very lucrative. By now some top military and police officers has shared the checkpoints they want to create in strategic locations in Asaba, that's the source of insecurity and not IPOB.
