I must say this year has been better and much brighter compared to the previous year. But one thing i have been worried about is my saving culture or is it that what i earn isn't high/sufficient enough to cater for bills like transportation, feeding, housing, electricity and other miscellaneous bills.

My salary is a little above 50k and before you know it, by the 3rd week of the month, everything would have finished. I cant say i am spending lavishly on anything because i an introvet. I hardly get to save anything at the end of the month and it pains me alot. I wonder if i am the only one facing this experience or there are other people earning lower or higher facing this.

Could it be that my saving culture is poor? How do you solve this challenge or how are you coping with it.

OP do you have a girlfriend? if yes cut whatever you have been giving her
do you have anyother invetsment you are spending on with that salary ? if your answer is no, make sure you get an business to be spending part of your salary on once you collect it. that way, you wont have too much slush fund on you.
also find perosn wey you fit dey bill or help you on a steady. maybe a family member cheesy

First, I will say it depends on which part of the country you are working in for you to be able to save out of a 50k salary. Things are considerably cheaper in some parts of the country than the others.
See naa only person wey get much people to lean on dey slack. As a man you need to learn to save by all means, struggle to stand on your own feet. The 50k is more than enough if you can close your eyes to some expenses.

Although i am also in your shoes, For instance when I got my job in Ogun, I had to stay in a place for like 4 months. I noticed i was unable to save 1 kobo. I analyzed what could be the cause. I struggled to save to get a face me I face you room.
After the payment I realized I couldn’t afford a mattress at the moment … that’s if I want to survive going to work, transportation.., eating and not tasking my colleagues for money. Apart from that I still have younger ones I am sending money.

Omo I painted the room myself and bought a rug. I bought two big blanket and I have laid it down in the room like that. I dey use am sleep pending the time I will buy a better mattress. No one will know that’s how my room looks and most importantly, i will be able to save gradually.

It's not your fault. Things are costly.

Is it Naira? If yes try to increase your income

Relying on only one source of income in present day Nigeria can be "suicidal" or to put it more mildly " extremely frustrating". Your income is meagre but still on still, try to document your expenditure and see were to cut off " unnecessary" expense if there is any at all. Then save that amount,no matter how little.

Look for other streams of income.

Managing 50k as a bachelor without saving is prudent enough considering the wack nature of the Nigeria's economic and political nature. What about the naira? It is nothing to write home about!

Salary has been static for years, but prices of food, transportation, medical bills, miscellaneous, rent, electricity etc. keeps skyrocketing with every dawn of the day. There's no possible way one can meet up; to meet up is to engage in forceful opportunity cost. You can't meet up. Simple.

Truth of the matter is that 50k is nothing to write home about. Earning at that range will make you slim fit your basic needs to bare minimum, you'll even think and feel that these basics things are not necessary, but you know they are deep within your heart. Good clothes you can't wear. Good shoes you can't buy. You'll even think twice before buying sachet water. This is annoying and pathetic. How much can you save in a year... laughing. If you save 5k monthly, that's 60k per annum...this is not funny.

Anyway, man must keep on thriving and pushing till he gets to his final destination. If you can endeavor to work in other areas to maximize your monthly pay it will be better. Or while you are on this current job, you must force yourself and become intense in any field that you know has a good prospect and within 1-3 years you'll start living quite alright - hell awaits your coming. Lol.

You must keep thriving, and thriving until you breakthrough. May you not lose your agility and health before that time or when the time comes for you to reap your fruits.

Thanks.

I don cut off from everything cutable but still money dey finish, abeg this country no be am at all....

Just be thankful you're able to survive and not be owing money left and right. For some people eyes you dey enjoy die....

Let me say the value of the naira is depreciating bro. For 3 days you spend nothing less than 25k fueling, miscalleneous, food.
We just pray for a better Nigeria

You live on 50k a month?

A labourer is paid 4k daily and he starts work at 8 and closes at 4pm.

Please sir, you must not be a civil servant. The way Nigeria salary is built is meant to make you poor for life. With 50k can you eat nkwobi of 5k a plate or don't you know that you deserve it after struggling in Nigeria.

It's actually a miracle that 50k lasts you for three weeks and I need your template on how you do it

How much is your total earning in a month? Are you an employer or employee?

On a monthly basis: how much do you spend on feeding, transportation, data, medicals, electricity, house rent?

So you are wise because you are saving #500 everyday after someone else takes care of your essentials?

whats all these?
you didn't get the sublimessage. I will break it down only once
1.I didn't say I saved the whole 5h. But I saved
2.I didn't mention anyone else taking care of my needs
3. I wasn't talking about being wise, the emphasis are on discipline- you decide a quota of your fee you want to save and keep to that.

Oga you need to sit down, take paper and pen and write down all your monthly expenses, from food to transportation to bills. When you are done with the calculations you will have your answer.

Nigeria hard at this time. N50k salary is small but try to have a budget and make sure you follow it to the later. Make sure you save something, anything at all monthly.

If you can't fly, run, if you can't run, walk. Don't stay stagnant
