My mechanic put mobil super 1000 in my 2009 toyota corolla (20W50). Can it harm my engine? Is it safe safe for me to keep using it?

Your engine is currently dying slowly. First it will weaken your oil pump, kill ur vvti actuators and finally fry your engine.

You more ignorant than your ignorance! Oga learn and stop drowning on ignorance...w is for wheather and the last no is for thickness.

Your pistons would over work cos of hard flow of lubrication. @ most 5w30 should be your last option.

Oga you didnt buy the car for me, stop showing me manuals of cars made in US. Don't worry, I'm fine.

But stop painting 20W50 bad. The limitation mineral oil Lube has as against synthetic is OXIDATION... get this fact.

The other day I saw when NNPC lubes were painted bad... I wish Abdulrahman saw your post that day... you know more that that prof that handled that project

Oga shut up and learn, W is for Winter, not weather. Piston isn't overworking anything...talk about the oil passages in the engine, if the orifices are small, that's when lighter oil are advantageous.

The two numbers you saw there is what makes it a multi-grade oil and both represents the temperatures expected in your engine at the two extremes.

Have you been a Lubricants testing laboratory before? There is a reason why viscosity, foaming tendency are tested at two temperatures.

What do you know about pour point? What is the reason for using pour point depressants in lubricants?

Please explain more on pore point.

Please explain more on pore point.

Pour point is the lowest temperature at which the lubricant ceases to flow... Below pour point, it starts freezing. Just as flashpoint is the lowest temperature at which the oil flashes, beyond flashpoint, the oil may ignite causing fire.
