It's cool..People might say it's too common to be a solid project, but a todo app is one of the best projects to sharpen your javascript skill. Just like an ecommerce project, it makes sure you use most of the basic javascript concepts. So kudos op. You are doing well.

ToDo app isn't a bad idea. It is good for beginners because more complex apps out there are like many ToDo apps linked together into one bigger suite. Take school management for example, one small app handles student record management(creation, modification, deletion, and query) and another small app or module handles class record management, finally a small student-to-class module helps handle how students are linked to class. The end result is that you can link your students to classes and query students by class as well as manage them.
