The movie is good tbh it's the first movie this year I actually watched twice , this guy is the main hero for me dude was so good at hunting he knows when the enemy have the upper hand "this is as far as i go" he couldn't feel the predators presence anymore and he didn't even have prep time like the sister dude was og abeg

AVP is garbage anyways. Until Prey (2022), the last decent Predator film had Arnold Schwarzenegger in it.

I like how Prey (2022) approached the idea of a young Predator trying to complete a rite of passage while being inexperienced. It started by killing and skinning a snake before realizing it wasn't the apex predator, then it killed a wolf and took the skull as a trophy, but later it met, fought, and killed a Bear, and finally encountered man, where the fun truly began.

It's a new take on a stagnating franchise, and I hope it's the start of something great.

This version also had a bullet resistant armour, he was just not well armoured, we saw a bullet ricochet when he was shot point blank in the head. And I won’t call him a novice hunter, I think he considers himself a superior hunter hunting in a primitive world, which explains his savagery and lesser armour.

Nope. Guns can penetrate the skin of predators. Though it will take a sufficient amount of bullet to kill them. The Predator in Predator 2 took multiple gun shot from a shotgun and didn't die.

Also in the first predator movie. When Dutch and his team unleash the greatest reign of bullets on the predator, they wounded it before it escaped.

My impression is that they purposefully dumbed down the technology in order to make the fight more fair.

Another angle to consider is that the Predator isn't a fully fledged warrior, so it stands to reason that he won't have access to all of the technology until he earns it.

Taabe was a total badass. He smoked the predator and would have triumphed if the predator hadn't cheated.

Cool. I hope so too. Though I wonder why they changed the weapons of the Predator. Was looking forward to seeing this predator use a biodisc but that didn't happen.

We'll never know, but Taabe was slicing it up with every move, and with each slice, it grew weaker. I guess it realized it's screwed if the duel continued, so going cloaked mode was born of desperation, as it was the only way it could kill Taabe.

Two reasons I can think of, one is overconfidence, perhaps he underestimated the inhabitants of earth and felt they won’t put up a good fight or as someone stated up there is maybe they purposely sent him out with little weapons to prove himself a good hunter.

One thing about the predators is that they adapt. They improve their skills and technologies based on their past hunting experiences. The predator's technology was advanced enough, considering how primitive his preys were
