Read it very well then come back and argue.

Why not google decree 34 of 1966 to clear your doubts as to who really did what? Once the did was done, it was hard to undo the unnecessary power that was now concentrated at the centre instead of the regions.

That decree 34 was the single most retrogressive error in the history of Nigeria. The other was by Nnamdi Azikiwe who ensured that a referendum clause was rejected from being included in the constitution.

Remove those 2 colossal errors and Nigeria could never have treaded the path of a civil war or the retrogression of quota system like we see today.

Those folks (Nnamdi Azikiwe and Aguiyi Ironsi) were just interested in political power without knowing what to do with it.

An independent Yoruba nation would have been in the league of developed nations in the world. Some people are not ready to move forward and they will not allow other people to move forward.

God bless you. The decree 34 even more than the secession clause will ensure Nigeria continues to go around in circles until that error is corrected. No country similar to Nigeria in size,population and diversity is successfully run as a unitary system.
