We are likely not getting Samuel Edozie. Too talented for England not to keep him within arm's length. Wish him the best. We move.
playing underage football with their country of birth doesn’t hinder us from getting any. You should be worried when they get noticed by the snr national teams and likely to make the lists to any Uefa or fifa organized competition

Aluko, lookman, moses, aina etc all played youth team football for their country of birth but later switched to us

Am not saying that Sam edozie will play for us but to say that he is not a lost yet if truly the nff are keeping taps on him, same goes to Malcolm Ebiowei

I like Awoniyi and I think he is more technical than Osim but he needs to work on his finishing.

Just tell us you like Taiwo, we will understand.

The only striker more technical than Osimhen in S.E is lheanacho, while Awoniyi is the least technical of all the striking options.

If our coaches dont do anything about our midfield then we are notbgoing anywhere. We wont go beyond the quarter final of the nations cup and may not quality for the next workd cup.
Mist if our oponents are aware of our strength. A strong attack but a weak midfield abd rgry will continue to take advantage of our weak midfield

The squad list

I still want to understand why Joe Aribo is missing from this list. He's been getting games and isn't injured. Even came off the bench last night or is there something we dont know?. At least, for the sake of the midfield, just list am!!! Which kain list be this sef?

That midfield is too thin.

I see...
▶️2 CDMs, one a ball-winning DM and the other a Ball-playing DM who's also adept at Ball-winning.
▶️1 Central Midfield playmaker (the only truly creative hub picked in the middle).
▶️And then one roaming CM who's a pressing machine and Workrate merchant. More defensive actions nous THAN attacking and a bang average ball-player.

I hope Peseiro hasn't contracted the Rohr Anti-MF Virus. angry
We look really understaffed in the middle.

No Alhassan... fine but not fine... but will console myself with the presence of Onyedika at least. Deserved call-up.

Akpoguma's return too is deserved and welcome. The CB crisis required his return.

Benchwarmers like Ekong, Uzoho, Okoye and Onyeka making the list isn't a good sign. Peseiro needs to raise the bar here. Why ignore Alhassan but invite Onyeka? Even Nwakali deserves a call at this point based on form and superior tactical quality compared to Onyeka. Not seeing Alhassan here is really not cool.

10 FWs, 6 of which are wingers and then only 4 MFs.
When will our coaches understand that we have got to prioritise the midfield to take our National team to higher levels? When??

A list that has 6 CBs and only 4 MFs is not one to smile at.

I give the list a 4/10. Doesn't matter if we win the Algeria friendly. List is unimpressive.

What is quality about being a bench warmer?
The Belgian league isn't a back water league and Club Brugge are one of the best there...They can beat Brentford that Onyeka plays for..

Wasn't Iheanacho dropped from the team when he was warming the bench at Leicester for other players in lesser leagues?
Onyeka isn't even an established player in the team .. His invitation ahead of Alhassan makes no sense...

Haaland will score 100 goals this season. He is perhaps the besr finisher in the history of football and with the creative players in man city he will score.
His finishing is divine

God forgive everyone that was using community shield to troll him. If he was doing it in 'farmers league' what should we now call what he's doing in 'corporate EPL'?

His slot should have been used to invite a midfielder instead... It's one game and we have Chukwueze, Simon, Lookman and Musa to man the wings...

I don't understand the thing... This pre world cup friendlies has given us a good opportunity to test players in certain positions that need reinforcement before we resume playing competitive games... There's no justification for dropping Alhassan unless it's something that has to do with visa issue...

I know Peseiro is likely to favour 4-4-2 yet again in the upcoming friendly but then even a 442 has its limitations especially when up against stronger oppositions and needs the two central midfield picks to be tactically synced with each other.

It's very likely the midfield 2 will be Ndidi and Iwobi if all goes according to plan but then who are the backups?

Onyedika can step in for Ndidi and is even a better ball-player than Ndidi. In Ball-winning, Ndidi is King and Onyedika is also quite strong in this aspect of midfield actions.

But who steps in for Iwobi, just in case? Frank Onyeka?? Lord, Help us, Help us, Help us... this better not be it else Peseiro go carry us go where we no know. grin
Truth is that list has no Iwobi cover. None.

Onyeka can provide fresh energy and workrate off the bench but isn't offensively sound and doesn't have the positional discipline to shield the back 4 like Ndidi and Onyedika can. His inclusion is purely inspired by the fact that he's in an EPL club for whom he warms the bench. Even Bonke Innocent may have been a better pick at this point. Haba!
