Get your rent sorted.. you can get online to search for cheap apartments, say self con around mainland could see for 100-150k.
Then start up ur job hunt around sururlere, Ikeja, lagos Island. Btw you can get something fast or you can engage in petty business for survival. I'm saying this because lagos is tough.
500k won't get u one sack of provision if u want to start a provision store...

He's a Nigerian and have right of state migration and to broaden his experience..

Would suggest you sort out acccomdation first before job hunting or invest the rest on a particular business of your choice. 500k is nothing in Lagos o considering the fact that you don't have any relatives over here. Transport alone will devalue the money.

Thanks, I will. As for survival, I'm an online type of guy so I don't really need to stress going out to look for something to do. I can sort myself out in that area. Thanks for the advice

In Jigawa or Osogbo maybe, but Lagos with N500k, the Lord is your strength indeed.

As for business idea. If you could manage to do maybe roadside food business because I can't imagine any business you will do with what's left of that amount after buying mattress, stove, basics and paying rent.

If I could be posted outside Lagos (especially Ilorin) I did be glad. I will be able to save easily on transport, housing, and food. Couple with the Lagos stress, health wise. Make your money up country and come Lagos on weekends to catch fun.

Well, I love the corporate world and I have my eyes set on some companies that are only located in Lagos.

Big 4 audit firms, management consulting firms, investment banking firms and oil and gas firms are concentrated in Lagos. You see why I want to go there now....

I think it is a wrong decision if u don't have anyone in Lagos. Even if u have eye in working in big firms, what are the chances u going to get employed? I will suggest u set up something with that money in your present location and build up yourself gradually, while u apply for ur desired jobs online. If any of your job application click, then u can relocate to lag. But relocating to lag on your own will drain that money & before u know it u will return back to your present location with 0 naira.

Hmmmm! You said you are an online person, yet, you didn't know you don't have to be in a particular location to apply for jobs in that location abi?

Bro, kudos to you on the part of being able to save such amount during your service year, and I'm convince it wasn't your allawee you were able to save to make up such amount, you definitely have been doing a side gig to boost such savings, in lieu of that, I would suggest you keep on with that very hustle, provided it's legit, relocate to a state with low or average cost of living, get yourself a decent apartment and keep on with your online thing while you also search online for job opportunities surrounding your target dream coy OR you relocate to a state you have family or relative you could put up with for the main time (this is to save you issue of rent, temporarily), then do your things from there and keep applying to jobs, when they call you for interview, then you go honour it, then comeback afterward, and when any of them click, you can then think of relocating to the place (Lagos).

The 500k you think you were able to save is kind of valuable in an average state, not somewhere like Lagos. I read someone earlier suggested you get a selfcon around mainland for about 150k, let's assume you were able to get it at such price (this is assumption o cos the charges and commissions from agent would even make it impossible, or so I thought), you wouldn't be sleeping on bare floor or not have basic stuff inside to keep you running, all those alone, if didn't gup up the whole 500k, would almost.

So, be logical with your approach and not make a PERMANENT DECISION ON A TEMPORARY FEELINGS.

Do you need to be in Lagos to get into them? All these companies recruit online. I know someone that got into Deloitte recently. She wasn’t in Lagos. They only bring them to Lagos for induction/training. If it is just by proximity, all the Lagosians would be working in the aforementioned firms na.

Hope you get laptop? If you no get PC, just buy one and enter any online business.

Don't invest in anything buying and selling, that your #500k go vanish o.
I don'tyou get a good shop for 300k per in any busy area or mega city in Nigeria, and then stocking the shop etc.

But you can venture into
Copywriting
Affiliate marketing
Amazon leverages/franchises
Graphics designs etc

If you get good land for anywhere, like, 3/4 plots of land, enter into Cucumber or pepper farmer, yes you heard me very well. I give you two farming cycles and you will become a comfortable millionaire
