Also, the powerbank that came with your own looks exactly like my 4g Hynetflex powerbank. I observed something disturbing while using the powerbank with the device, whenever power is interrupted, the device will reboot. Do you experience this?


Another issue I have with the device is I only get 4g even though my location is listed on their website as a 5g location, I called customer care but they seemed even more confused. One was asking me if the phone I connected to the router has an MTN SIM, how the SIM wey dey my phone take affect router network reception?

For Walk-in customers, your details are taken down, so that when the UPS is available for those who walk-in and buy, you will be notified.

Though some Walk-in customers were erroneously given the UPS when they started selling the routers.

The UPS will not be sold separately, they are very few for now, hence only customers who pre-ordered are given for now.
Eventually, it will be widely available and bundled with every router.

MTN is still in talks with Apple to resolve the issue of iPhone 12, 13 and 14 not getting the 5G signal.

If you have a Samsung S22 ultra, and you are getting MTN 5G on it, kindly state the variant you own.
e.g. SM-S9080, SM-S908B, SM-S908E, SM-S908N, SM-S908U, SM-S908W

Again, please if you have any of the above Samsung S22 ultra variants and you are receiving MTN 5G, kindly state your variant.
Note that this will help in resolving the challenges of some Samsung devices not getting the 5G network.

I use SM-S908W. I got 5G the very first day it went live. Got it for a couple more days but it has since reverted to 4G.

I am curious, have you tried flashing a firmware from a different region? Firmwares can be gotten from Sammobile or XDA.

Problem with flashing different regions is that if you aren't careful you might not get security updates as often as you'd want. Mine is even US (Verizon), so I should get the 5G sef.

The SM-S908W is actually the Canadian variant and doesn't support 5G band N78, hence why you may not be getting the 5G signal.
Verizon uses SM-S908U, which is the US variant.

Recent iPhones are known to achieve far more speed than Android, even the likes of S22 ultra.

Just go on YouTube and search for speed test between iPhone 13 or 14 and 22 Ultra.

iPhone 13 and 14 would give you greater speed than even dedicated routers or MiFis if all conditions are the same.

This is not true. MTN 5G is widely available in Abuja and Lagos as we speak. Did a few speed test using a Nokia x10 even in a location where MTN hasn't even deployed a 5G base station, yet got 496mbps.

MTN is still currently in talks with Apple and Samsung as their devices are not getting the 5G signal. However, if you have a Nokia, Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi, Oneplus or Oppo 5G device and in a 5G location, you will be getting the 5G signal on your device using a 4G sim.
