This man is just fooling himself...... Does he really think ASUU will remain strong Just recently I saw one of my lecturers, a Dr for that matter he was a taxi driver(I did not say bolt oo), will such choose to remain with ASUU??..

See hunger is a very powerful weapon, and this evil govt will do all they can to utilize it, like I said before, in war you should know when to retreat, it's not weakness, ASUU should have done that after that last round of discussions in August before they went indefinite....

When the govt ordered the schools to reopen about last week, ASUU said schools can reopen but it's members are on strike, now another association in Conua has been created, just watch the massive exodus that will happen from ASUU to Conua if they refuse to call of their strike....

This govt is evil and wicked, I just hope the discussion of the speaker with Buhari will yield positive results...
My question is will the creation of Conua, hence the migration of members from ASUU to Conua solve the problem?.... Will Conua sooner or later also revolve to revolt against lack of proper funding by government? Ur guess is as good as mine!

I think this CONUA faction are mostly junior lecturers who are tired of the shenanigans of their seniors in the name of strike and at the end of the day, the seniors will take the lion share of the spoils
Also
Most of these junior lecturers don't have other sources of income like their seniors, hence they suffer more

CONUA have been suppressing their Vawulence for many years
It has finally been unleashed
because
Without Vawulence man is Nothing grin
exactlygrin CONUA is junior lecturers rebellion against senior lecturers grin
omor i don’t blame them grin those junior lecturers have only one job and have been suffering. -grin

CONUA can’t succeed as NAMDA and MORE academic unions will be approved in subsequent months.

Much difficult mobilising for strike among ALL of them when they don’t have same president. It’s very easy for ASUU to declare strike with one president presiding every staff in universities. it won’t be that easy again i assure you. i heard pharmacy lecturers are mobilising for their own union as well.

More so, government is mulling the idea to grant universities complete autonomy in subsequent legislations. tuition will be raised and strike for FG to increase lecturers salary will become obsolete. They’ll pay themselves from tuitions accrued.

ASUU has lost

Has the duplication of trade unions in the healthcare sector put an end to multiple strikes? It will only complicate negotiation processes. What's the difference between these multiple registration and what we see in the healthcare sector a few years ago?

But lets wait and see...

ASUU is just a name. The losers are the lecturers (regardless of your association) and students.

The best thing would have been to obey court order and return to class while negotiation continues.

Had it ASUU obeyed court order and returned to class, that would've been the end of negotiation. FG has been begging ASUU in the previous years to return back to work and negotiation would continue. But as soon as ASUU resume work, everything stops

ASUU will soon lose its license. the reason is valid. VCs will be ordered to reopen universities in line with court order, any lecturer who wants to receive salary will register with CONUA and mobilise for resumption.

Are you aware government withdrew the order for VCs to reopen school?

You said Universities will open immediately after court order, what's happening now?

Even military found it hard to break such a resolute union.

If citizens of this country are intentional about change, bit should start with education instead of waiting for 2023.

They’ll pay themselves from tuitions accrued. so no point going on strike and asking FG for increased salary.

Weaponizing hunger is one of the reasons Nigeria and the black race will remain backwards and underdeveloped, the govt clearly knows the tool they want to use to weaken the resolve of the hungry folks amongst ASUU members, I dare say they are just very foolish and stupid to fall for such, they want to enjoy temporarily and suffer permanently.

ASUU remains the group to beat and they are fighting a just cause

It will solve absolutely nothing, yes Conua itself will sooner or later go on strike, from history nothing like this has ever been a solution, to the govt this is a political game of chess, govt does not want to meet ASUU's demand and ASUU as well will not back now, govt knows it will badly injure their campaign hence their reason for doing this..... This move might/will end the strike sooner but the effect in future might be disastrous but guess what, this useless govt does not care about that future but only of now..

So you believe that after they resume work, the FG (by their nature) will resume negotiation or sweep things under the table!?

If FG had commenced negotiations before the strike, would their have been a need for it!?

The problem is not what they say. The problem is that you overrate your government. A government that couldn't remove subsidy when a dollar exchanged for N250 will not turn government universities to "private" universities.

How can you or anyone believe the same government that failed on its agreement with ASUU?
