Instead of you putting pressure on your governors and demanding good governance, you would rather blame FG - I really pity you guys.

FG allowed Lagos state government to work even on the Ocean (the bar beach comes to mind). So, why won't the FG allow Anambra to work on river niger to save people's lives?
Afonjas are comedians. See your almighty Lagos with excuses for flood

Show me one place in Lagos with the kind of flood we see in Anambra? Rain water on the road is not the same as a whole community finding itself underwater. Stop fooling yourself - press your governors' neck as we press your neck here.

A few weeks ago, obidients and zombidients have inundated us with the excellent performance of Obi when he was governor of Anambra. We were regaled with tales of how he transformed the state and even saved billions for the state before leaving office. Some of us didn't believe the bullshit Obi's supporters were trying to sell to the world. We argued that if Anambra was that transformed under Obi, Obiano wouldn't have been the one building the first airport in Anambra. He wouldn't have been the governor installing the first set of traffic lights on major roads in Anambra and he wouldn't have been the one building the first flyover in the state.

As the banter continued, heavy rain started across the country, and today, more than 50% of Anambra state is underwater. While this is a sad occurrence especially because lives and properties have been destroyed with many other people rendered homeless, we wonder if this is the same Anambra Obi was said to have ruled exceptionally well. With Obi claiming to have saved billions of naira for the state, you would have thought all the state's challenges have been addressed. Flooding in Anambra did not just start this year and neglect by successive governments (including Obi) led to the disaster we are seeing today.

My question to Obi... Why did you prefer to keep Anambra's money in Fidelity Bank instead of using it to solve the environmental and infrastructure challenges the state was facing?
Some of you talk like children. Obi was Governor of Anambra almost 10 years ago and flood is a natural occurrence that can happen anywhere in the world

Why is it necessary to dredge the river ? To what end?
Without dredging the river, it will yearly overflow its banks at this period, leading to crisis in all communities along its banks.
Re: Now That The Rain Has Exposed The Facade Called Obi's Anambra by XerXers: 12:09pm On Oct 12, 2022
Lagos flood is yearly. Any drop of rain must lead to flood. This is the type of flood associated with governors failure not rising of river Niger because a dam was opened which has nothing to do with state government

How do you know this? How old is the River ?

Do you have any technical data to back up this claim?

It sounds like a religious idea with no basis in anything logical
There is little evidence to back up your claim .
How many times has the river overflowed in your lifetime.

FYI the River does not commence in Nigeria it runs through several countries. Where will the dredging start and where will it end?

Go back home and call rallies to demand good governance from your governors. Instead, you're here defending them and even saying one of the failures (Obi) should be made the president.

But foolish igbos accuse Lagos gov of same all the time so what changed. Can you now see multitude of you Igbos are plainly mad if not all of you that reason same way. The OP just wanted to highlight the hypocrisy of your tribe

Isobug:
Hate filled thread.
Irrelevant propaganda. As if Obi is God that averts Natural disasters. In fact almost all the states in Nigeria are currently experiencing the flood and appropriate authorities are still even warning more is coming including Lagos

Oga abeg rest.
It's the rainy season. Alot of states are flooding. Even states that have no history of flooding got a fair share this period.
Countries too outside Nigeria are experiencing flooding too, so why is it Anambra's own that is your headache? Why didn't you complain of Kogi state flooding that is making travelling difficult for road users or Jigawa state that has rendered farming useless and killing its citizens or even some states that always flood every year. I don't hear the names of their governors on your lips.
Please can you help us go and drink all the water so we can vote for you?

Hope the government will take on Cameroun for realising water from the Dam to destroy Nigeria.

And I hope Mr President is not seeing from "it is not our northern people" perspective.

What of Lekki flood.

Anambra own is different cos it's over flowing of the rivers but Lekki is ordinary gutter.

Well it's not only Anambra is affected if you know how to use your google app. Even Florida is affected with hurricane

"How do you know this"? Because it is our area .
"How old is the river"? Have you heard the name Mungo Park and his African story? Can you ask God how long ago he created man? Have you ever heard about ages of rivers?

"Do you have the technical data"? Your Google is your friend. You can easily research.

"It sounds like a religious idea". What a joke.

You give yourself away as a young man with completely no idea, on the basis of your question.

Do you like in a street that is muddy? Look at this. When you dig drainages, you need to affix the concrete/cementing, etc of the dug areas for proper channelization of water. If it is not done, sand begins to refill areas already dug.

When you dredge rivers, flood is mitigated, water is proper channelized. It provides benefits for shipping, etc. Unfortunately our governments have failed to have the job done, as they fall under the control of the FG.

Areas to be dredged are the most affected areas and government through studies knows them all.

Those who shout Tinubu/Atlantic City do not know that the FG has always supported. Tinubu started the idea of Eko Atlantic City when the Atlantic always overflowed and threatened residents of VI and Lekki. They also do not know that the whole of the front of the present outer Marina in Lagos was water, until it was reclaimed under the government of Mobolaji Johnson and OBJ in the late 1970s. That entire stretch of Apongbon bridge and the road getting to the officers mess was the Lagos lagoon. The front of the present First bank headquarters was called Quayside.

Sorry to say, but you can find out from the older people around you, who knew Lagos at the time, all I stated above.

Dredging of the river finds no basis in religion, but politics. If the river is dredged, then large body ships can berth at the Onitsha sea port. Government seems to avoid it, thereby giving Lagos seaports unfair advantages. That Onitsha seaport presently is not functioning.

You can take your time to search for historical information.

You this miscreant. Lagos is flooded at any drop of rain. Anambra is flooded only when a dam is released. Last time it happened was 2012. How can state governor decide what happens in a dam in Cameroon?

Yorubas are enemies of Nigeria. Imagine kicking against projects in other regions when it will lead to overall economic progress in the country. Petty tribal interest has blocked their head because they don't venture outside their region

You tamed it where? You tamed flood? You tamed natural occurrences? Can you please tell us how you tamed flooding please.

"Go back home and call for good governance". Tell us which part of this country, beginning with the center, delivers good governance. Or you do not understand what good governance means? Tell us what you gave benefitted from your idea of good governance, in your Osun state, in terms of infrastructure, ranging from roads, to security, to electricity, health, etc. Tell us how good governance has been delivered to the states with the highest allocations.

If you call Obi a failure, please tell us how your candidate is successful with governance and how it has impacted you positively.

The way afonjas are pushing a propaganda that their region is doing well baffle informed people like us. Obi ruled same time with aregbesola. While Obi left savings with little debt, Aregbe left huge debt with nothing to show. While Obiano met money and built airport with it Osun airport started by Aregbesola remain a big bush till today
