Nobody forced them to shut the schools at the detriment of students suffering. The Labour law is clear abt "No work, No pay", despite knowing the law they still embarked on strike. Can't we ask ourselves why ASUU has been going on strike since 1970s under more than 10 different Presidents and 6yrs wastes in 23yrs?
If group of intellectuals can't provide solution to ASUU problems but always sticking to old pattern then where is the intellectuality?
Yar'adua and GEJ were all Lecturers, current Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, Fmr Minister Prof. Ruqayyah Ahmad Rufai among many past Ministers of Education was were all Lecturers and can't find solution to what group of greedy individuals are asking then definitely there is problem.
ASUU-FG 2009 agreement recklessly signed by Yar'adua said and I quote that, FG universities will be paid N1.5 trillion each while state Universities will be given N3.6m per each student between 2009-2011. Is this not outrageous, ridiculous and unrealistic request?
Go and read 52 pages MoU signed in 2009 that is why the dullards are atill sticking to 2009 agreement.
How do you reason self? Was ASUU holding a gun and pointing it at FG during that 2009 negotiation that made FG agreed to their demands? Did ASUU forced them to sign it? Now back to this administration, they renegotiated with ASUU on some of that 2009 agreements and yet the agreed money they fixed to be giving ASUU they never come through with it. But the foolish FG has money to buy exotic cars for the Nigeriens, there’s money to gift other countries, there’s money to pay bogus salaries and allowances to our sleeping senators and incompetent ministers. What’s the educational budget of Nigeria compared to the others in our yearly budget list?

These action by FG will both be felt by the lecturers and students and it has started in Unijos already were it ASUU members has stopped taking classes until they get paid atleast 50% of their eight month salary as agreed before the strike was suspended

What kind of country is this?

We have been told how Nigerians are able to bear hardship. One cannot but wonder how Nigerians are able to ensure such misery.

In 7 years of APC leadership, this country has gone from bad to worse and from worse to the worst. What else should Nigerians expect?

How do Nigerians agree to suffer endlessly like this? Foreign exchange has gone absolutely bunkers. No control and no word to explain why it is so. All we hear is the arrest of some Abokis, as if the Abokis on the street are the regulators. In 7 years of APC, rice has gone from 8,000 to almost 50,000, yet some people have sworn in the hearts to continue to believe the lies of APC. All their promises failed and yet some bear the misery with hope for a better tomorrow. Bread is out of the reach of the common man.

How are Nigerians able to live such miserable lives and yet trust their tomorrow in the hands of a select few, who enslave and impoverish them?

The time has come to reclaim the future of the youths and children of this country. Let's do the right thing with our PVCs.
Yet thousands want to vote in Tinubu. They don't think he'll carry on with the party mandate

The sooner Buhari sacks Ngige, the better for APC... The guy is seriously plotting APC downfall because Ibos lost APC ticket and he is weaponising ASUU strike for Political gains

.
Cheap talk. The decision comes from the above, some people just like to talk rubbish, before any action like that will be taken, the president is first brief and the president advisers tells the president whether to go ahead or not, beside the executive meeting that occurs every once in a month should make you to understand that a minister can't take decision without the president approver.

The president, not Ngige, is behind all these.
The president believes that he is the 21st century Othman Dan Fodio for his people in Nigeria.

Best thing I ever see in Buhari regime is this, how will you not work and be expecting salary. You're paid for what you worked for, in those advance country you all want to run to where you do hourly jobs, are you telling me that you won't go to work for 8 months and they'll still pay you.

It's not done anywhere

JORAISU has been on strike since October 2021 (joint unions in the research institutes including nasu, ssauthriai etc) and their salaries have always been paid up to date for more than 1 year.....but Ngige doesn't know this....
Nigeria will start to get better when we have sane people running the affairs of the nation.
ASUU should just go back to their strike cos this is a sign that none of the agreements signed will be implemented because govt will always claim that no money yet, government representatives continue to live in grand style
