This is by far very worse.
Their exchange rate to naira is just a mirage and hoax.
The real economic power lies in the purchasing power.

We are telling them this fact but they refused to listen to the voice of wisdom.
Ghana fiscal policy remains the highest lies ever told to people after APC's frivolous promises.

This happened in developed countries but did same happen in Africa. Maybe the money got pumped into pockets of politicians.

Africa's inflation is likely imported since we import almost everything.

We’re exactly are you…

The equivalent of 1000 naira is about 10 cedis…

As for purchasing power naira is better.

If you eat 10 cedis food in Ghana you will not get satisfied. You have not even started. that’s for a meal. I can bet 1000 naira can get you at least two meals.

A bottle of beer is 9 cedis… equivalent of about 900 naira at the road side bar. Not some posh club o!

So that should give you a perspective of the purchasing power of both currencies.
..

Bro you know it very well. You won't believe how much I spend weekly!! My wife went to market recently and 2000 cedis had no impact!! I went to the kitchen and was like "babe you didn't go to the market again"? She went but bro a bag of nigerian rice now sells at 700 cedis in madina market and 25kg of vegetable oil sells at 600 cedis now how much is left? No matter how bad things are in nigeria, you won't say 200k naira won't stock your kitchen

So why the sudden high inflation rate almost in every part of the world?
Take me back to the 90s or better still 80s please!
Government pumped money into the economies after the Covid lockdowns to prevent a global depression. Apparently, they over did it. Now a recession is here in a bid to curb inflation.

Africa has a majorly import based economy. Hence they import the inflation too.

How easy do you think it is to get 1000 cedis compared to getting 1000naira?

1000 cedis is teachers monthly salary in Ghana

1000cedis is what people currently use to buy fuel for five days over there

Fuels sells for over 1000naira over there

Forget about exchange rate, naira has far far more purchasing power than the cedi

Show me a single project build and commission by Tinubu throughout his tenure.
By the way.

That Waterworks was commissioned by Mr. Lord Luggard, the then Governor General of Lagos, in 1915 at Obun Eko Area of Lagos. The Iju treatment plant has a design capacity of 2.4million gallon per day (MGD) and was constructed primarily to supply Water to the Colonial residents of Ikoyi in those days.
So you mean for good eight years he did not complete any project. The best thing is to ignore people like you. If I dig deep now Ikpeazu might be your governor.

Inflation is a global issue. Nigeria isn't alone in this situation. But had our economy and resources been managed well, had no crude theft been in place, we'd have fared much more better as a country. I remember a time the whole world went into a recession. Nigeria didn't even feel it as much as our neighbours and developed economies did.

Today, cefa has overtaken naira,.making naira one of the worst performing currencies in Africa today .

They have flooded this thread.

Bad news from other countries makes them excited so they can use it to justify the incompetence of APC & their paymasters.

We should be comparing ourselves with great and thriving nations not Ghana, Venezuela, etc.

You guys should be ashamed of yourself.

Ignore the imbeciles... They are the set of people that make failures in power comfortable in their poor leadership!

That's why they can never amount to meaningful things in life... They are mentally lazy and prefer excuses over hard work and Innovation.
