Your assertions are not wrong BUT today's volume in STANBIC should be instructive as to who is in charge. The weekly and daily bias are saying the same thing as per my interpretation which can be subjective. Too many hurdles in the way of that upward charge not just the trend line. The multi-timeframes are stating the same thing, drop a few indicators into the mix and your recipe is complete.
juniorrate:

from the chart i can see a falling wedge in weekly which a bullish pattern and with a big vol it can break the #32 which is acting as resistance from the trendline and that will be sure uptrend if it keep holding strong there while at the same time if rejected at #32 then expect it to break below #27 this time

the table can turn if rejected at the last monthly high resistance of #31.90 and can retest below 27# from there. for bullish confirmation 32# need to be broken and keep holding there

Chart patterns don't exist in isolation. As part of a wholesome picture, you have to consider what the fund managers look at when they make buy/sell decisions. Not the daily gyrations we see every time.

Like I said in my initial post, you are not wrong but consider other parameters in conjunction with the patterns on your charts.

No matter how low the price of Stanbic IBTC PLC goes, we should expect the Standard Bank Group Limited to purchase as much shares as it can to ensure that they continue to increase their higher percentage holding within the ownership structure.

I also think this goal of increasing the percentage holding is one of the reasons for the dividend for shares policy as well as the higher dividend income they distribute to shareholders.

The beauty of the market is in the independence of thought. If all market participants agree every time, no money will be made.
My 6 is your 9 if we are sat on opposite sides.

Sounds like they have an existing share repurchase programme going on.

Whatever move the insiders need to make, today is their last opportunity until Feb 2023. This 'might' explain the large volume of sales noticed yesterday or might not.

Oga you use all those terms in relation to consolidation and you can have consolidation in both bullish and bearish season. That's what I was pointing out.

Baba that's the author's way of going comic before the meat. TA is much simpler compared to FA and both are useful anyway.

*22 Nigerian Stocks that can make you smile in the next 12 months, and their current prices*
.
By December 2023, some of these stocks might have given you 100% returns....
Lol.
Those guys just packaged big big companies full that list........I didn't even see up to five giving the mentioned 100% return there..... smiley
The ones that will give the 100% easily have been overlooked....... tongue
Not saying those ones won't or may not deliver something o, but note the "easily" deliver in my post...........lol.
Besides, some of the coys in the list are high already @ their given prices, so giving 70-100% will be very tasking.........Except there's XXXL gigantic bull from Burundi smiley

@4.40, it's trading 0.44k pre-reconstruction......
Has delivered over 100% since after reconstruction.....(price opened@2.10).....
The entire total issued capital is now very small......think less than 500M......though still with Unissued share capital of around 4B, we see how they plan to do this one, could be in terms of right issue, cancellation or whatever the mgmt agreed on...

True.

That is why you can't easily see the FA in commodities market until the events that will move the commodity is aired. Only TA can see the price action and then expect the narratives to follow. Hence price leading narratives.
