I have lived at the Eastern part of the country all my life and one thing I hear about Lagos is that it is very stressful to live in.

It was my plan to come for my Christmas break in Lagos but one thing led to another I had to stay back here.

The first thing I noticed about people here is that they take prayers seriously.

They christians are seen in numbers doing work hours prayering and Muslims I see around the streets are also praying.

Secondly, I noticed that people still sale until 2:00 am, like when I boarded a night bus back from East to get somethings I still saw hawkers selling bread at that time.

Thirdly, they are early risers. Everyone is late at 7:00 a.m so if you are not serious you would reach work late because everywhere is far from everywhere.

Lastly, the fact that I have to wear trousers to anywhere I'm going too makes me feel somehow πŸ˜‚ Omo, I can't jump so many road dividers without a trouser which is not my thing because I love dressing on cooperate gowns.

I have two job offers as stated in the subject of this thread, kindly advise me on the best to go for

It depends on the real you, it's all about Perspective.

If you're the one with Millionaire mindset, V.I is it.

Otherwise, Stay for Abule Egba, less stress and you'd get everything you want.

It all depends on the following:
1 Career path. I don't know what you studied and also the position involved.

2. Benefits. Most companies don't give 13th month, HMO, Life insurance or even pension. So if I am to advice you, choose the one that have better benefit. Any company that have good benefit is well structured and there is assured career path.

3. Connections or network of professionals. You can research more on the companies to know their review or impact in the society. Glassdoor or any other site can help you find out the working condition of employees past or present.
Congratulations on your new job!

What's the career growth of both jobs? If they are the same. Abule egba to Egan is good because trans and stress would equates the gross from abule egba

Abulegba every day all day. You cannot quantify the stress from Egan to Island & if you are married you will be useless at night to your wife as a result of traffic fatigue.

Poor?! in what aspect?
Anyways, it depends..

For instance, I dazzle in Kogi with my Ashawo color Honda DC, on getting to Lagos last Christmas I realized nobody is checking me out anymore, Lagosian no send.

Friends later advised me to park the Honda, and drive a Toyota Venza during my stay instead.
I really wished to stay back but I've got unfinished business in Kogi.

Nobodys got a Venza or a luxury SUV in my Kogi area.

Kogi is a training ground for me to sharpen up, I can't stay here for long.

If I get a suitable offer in Lagos, I'd leave in the next 24hrs without looking back.

Lagos is a better place for me.

Transportation from Egan ( Igando axis ) to VI and back every week day is a suicide mission.

Your productivity level will suffer and you wil spend a huge chunk of your salary on transportation.

You may die young. It's a possibility.

he say millionaire mindset. Like the elite in VI will welcome you into their circle with his 200k salary . As a new comer to lag go to Abule egba. You can rent a house nearby, but you can’t afford anywhere near VI with 200k

To keep your sanity in Lagos, avoid jobs that take you long distances, especially if there's no company car. My first two jobs gave me company cars. For the first I worked at Ikeja while living at Ketu estate. It was cool because I could leave the house at 7.30 am and come back by 6.00pm.

The second was at a place called Ikota, even with a new company car, only God saved me. I had to wake up by 3.30 am to hit the death trap called Third Mainland Bridge before 5.00am. Sometimes, I get home by 11.00pm. Ikota is on the way to Epe way beyond the island. Most times I feel sleepy while on wheels. Now, that is what you must never do: risking your life for money.

I suggest that you don't look at the money. Choose the job that has a better work condition and work environment. Better people to work with and prospect of giving you experience that you can leverage on to grow in a career or business. Good luck.

Aunty stay in abule egba...

Cost of living is moderate there, since your work place would be there, get a small and cheap accommodation close to your work place and you will save more than living in abule egba and working at V.I...

Or living and working at V.I you won't even have change to eat talk more of saving....

Chose wisely
