I just saw Babylon 2022
Very interesting movie, don't watch with parents or children, too many sex scenes.
The movie was a solid 8 in a my book.
Similar to Once upon a time in Hollywood but in Babylon, Margot Robbie was a lead not supporting again.
Brad Pitt delivered again as usual.
Great movie

I'm in the same dilemma as you.

I'm just piling up books since last December and reading none. Just sample a few chapters and vamoose.
I was asking for z library the other day piling up books and hoping I'll get my mojo back, but deep down I know say I dey whine myself. 😭😢

I'm just praying all my major books just get adapted and save me the time. It's only Fire and Blood that's been my closeness to some level of seriousness in recent years.

The one wey dey pain me was in late November when I spent almost a whole day reading comic storylines of some DC characters, I was deeply interested and decided to go get the comic books. Only for me to start the comics and begin dey fall asleep in just a few pages. 😢😢😰

It's like my brain is now so slow. Me wey dey finish a whole 500 page novels in a day or two back then. If story too sweet, I no dey sleep for night till 4am sef. cry
I have over 150 books to read but I can't get the patience to read them.
So I am stuck with movies but because it's easier to watch an absolutely rubbish movie than to read an absolutely rubbish book I must read reviews of any movie before I watch it.
Like Green mile, I think it was made 1998, awesome movie with absolutely excellent story progression and premium immersiveness and character development.
So good movies are serious fun too.

Babylon (2022)....8

Criminally underrated.
Happy for Damien Chazelle.
Man still got it.

3hrs run time in 2023? Damien Chazelle is a fine film maker but my attention span recently have been on the edge so I'm avoiding movies over 2hrs runtime except it's absolutely necessary, so please was this worth the ridiculous runtime?

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)

Glad i used the money i kept for seeing this at the cinema back in November, to eat grill fish!

Stunning cinematography and incredible set design and Tenoch Huerta as Namor was lit, i would like to see the character again in a better written project, but that was just about it.

The movie suffered from a severe identity crisis, wanting to be an ode to Chadwick Boseman coupled with an unnecessary feminist agenda and a need for Latino representation which ultimately made for a bad mix and lead nowhere.

The dialogues were haphazard and was not help in anyway by the accent. Almost next to nothing replay value this.

Still think MCU peaked after "Avengers:Endgame" (2019) and this has done nothin to change that view, just like the other garbs that has come before it.

If you love Boogie Nights, you'll love this.
It has restless energy and isn't afraid to take a risk.
If you have a short attention span, this is not for you.
It's just the kind of movie you either hate or like, no inbetween.

… if you follow and comprehend a story line. The runtime hrs shouldn’t be a factor.

Every story must have an ending!

Aquaman 2 featuring Black Panther (2022)

4/10....

The accent was a huge turn off. I think the accent was just for the run time to get longer because they drag every syllable so bad that it's cringe-y as it is dumb.

There was overacting and poor dialogue in many places plus, the story was copycat.

Only the music in the movie made sense..the score seemed nice too.

Thankfully I chose Way of Water over this in the Cinema new year Eve.

another thing; the quote "Imperius rex" wasn't done justice to. It's literally one of the most popular things about Namor.
And the LGBTQ stuff, if you have a brain and use it, you'll know what I think of that. How about the fact that there is no chemistry between the 2 persons involved. I may even say the chemistry was a negative.

I'm almost done watching Wakanda Forever and I have a question.
why couldn't Shuri just wear the Black Panther suit before?
isn't the suit like an Ironman suit that anyone can wear? why do they need to drink the herb first?

Why do you feel the need to drop spoilers? undecided

The movie also isn't feminist in any way.

Too many of these late stage liberals are ironically binary minded. Our way or nothing. They refuse to come to terms with the fact that so many things are a spectrum. Very few liberals my age can make any sense out of they/them non binary / genderfluid and the alpabteth mafia capturing more letters than a sesame street episode.

Anyone who has read thew entire Harry Potter series would see the wokeness overflowing from the books. But here we are today. Jk Rowling is not down with transsexuals so burn the witch and her books!

the Harry Potter books is many things, but I wouldn't consider it to be woke. unless you consider banal sh*t like ''discrimination is bad/ slavery is bad'' to be woke

Cinema Sins' sin (hehehe) was trying so hard to find sins in movies, they started taking things out of context or suffering from selective amnesia just to be able to rack up the sin count for movies. Nowadays they exist just to get called out by the comments section.
