A Knock at the Cabin (2023).....6.5

Deviates greatly from the source material which I kinda resent cos the deviation voided the plot twist which in turn diluted the climax considerably.
What's the point of a psychological horror if there are no plot twists??
I enjoyed the acting nonetheless even if the simple plot was a tad too predictable.

And The Matrix was created by Trans SIsters, so yeah Trans and Gays can write good stories without shoving sexuality and identity politics down our throats, and this may sound crazy to you, but that is exactly what they audience wants - to be entertained.
It's really odd because when you are fully immersed in the stories created by these queer filmmakers, you would see how plot points and characters were queercoded, something only queer people would see. The matrix was literally a trans metaphor but you ain't queer so your interpretation will be simple

Just gave me more reasons not to see it but seriously how did "Himalayan night" snag that WB deal?

Keywords "plot points, characters and queercoding"..... To do that,I will have to start from the golden age of Hollywood down to the movies these filmmakers made,I'm tempted but not going to write a lengthy anecdote

True. A24 films are more about the art... I just feel their movies deserves more financial success. Ain't surprised tho since most of their films walk in the realm of weird and extreme.

We need more films in the "realm of weird" not extreme,if it's more than anything "Babylon" taught us that

I remember reading from somewhere that his films since "The Sixth Sense" had turn a profit, so it kinda make sense that WB would wanna tap into this.
Say what you'll about M. Night Shyamalan but the man knows his audience.

I like how he funds his own movies so he probably would have ended up funding "Trap" himself anyway.

Simple.
His movies are mostly box office successes and brings tons of money for the studio involved. Also, he mostly self-funds his movies, so it's a win-win for studios as he also bears the risk, especially on risky projects.
He also convinced Chris Nolan to join Universal. Maybe he can convince him back at WBD. grin
All these are perfect recipe for WB who needs money and profits badly as well as creating alternative franchises or original projects.

BABEL 8/10

Babel is a movie comprising four independent stories which becomes linked by a simple gesture of one of the men in the stories. This gesture causes a domino effect between the people in these stories. The aftermath of this leaves a series of adverse situations on the lives of some of the people in these stories while the person who β€œpushed the first domino” is left barely unscathed.

This movie shows how connected we all are and how a simple action or inaction can affect the lives of others without the perpetrator of the action having any idea of what might have happened.

The movie stars Brad Pitt, but he doesn’t get much screen time. This wouldn’t matter much though as the story has the ability of fully engrossing the viewers to the point of not paying any mind to that.

This is one the best movies I have see and I have seen a lot of good movies.

I highly recommend this.

that will be tough cos i have forgotten most

Jack reacher
District 9
Jurasic park 1 & 2
Toby Maguire's Spiderman 1 and 2 (2 for me is the best spiderman ever made)
Final Fantasy vii Advent Children - Animated
Independence Day
Starship Troopers 1 and 2
Robocop 1 and 2 (2 for me is better)
Pitch Black (Riddick)
Dredd
Predator

The witcher nightmare of the wolf - Animated. (This one is 2021 though, but highly recommended)

You may have seen most of these movies before, but after watching the recent movies (That are mostly garbage) and then going back to rewatch these old movies, you will notice most of the old movies scripts were well written, with good storylines in most cases they are satires like The Starship Troopers and Robocop.
There is a lot of care in the editing and the CGIs, and above all else - A good story.

In terms of Marvel the Movies that was close to the source materials in Hollywood were Edward Norton's Incredible Hulk and Ray Stevenson's The Punisher - Warzone,
And for DC the only projects that are close to source materials were Justice League (not series), Batman under the red hood, Batman killing Joke, ALL OF THEM ANIMATION.

this was hard cos there are lot of very very good movies missing on this post.
thanks so much boss

I'd surely check the ones I'm yet to see out...

As to Marvel and DCEU; I've never read any of their comic so I guess I don't have much problem on whether they stick to the source material or not

He's a creative, that's not something I'm gonna argue with but there's just always a miss. WB truly made a sweet deal

True,
The Infinity Gauntlet ( that linpired Infinity War and End Game) was just one of the many Materials in Marvel Comics that these retards at Disney could make Billions by just copying and pasting from the source material but no, screw the Fandom.

Haven't you heard of the "New World Order"? It's already taking shape and some people believe "the antichrist" will be gay based on a Bible verse, it's already taking shape lol
It's like you have a gay topic radar cuz you are always on here spamming the entire NL with gay agenda undecided. We get it, you lot want acceptance but you are going about it in quite a disturbing and annoying way. Shoving gay content deliberately and unnecessarily in media these days is thing whether you choose to admit it or not. People can't accept your kind over night as a norm and i believe you know why, it will take time, but in the meantime, the world won't revolve around your kind, there are far bigger problems in the world at the moment. Your kind makes it even more difficult to accept you, because accepting it means accepting other deprivations like trans-able, people who identify as animals etc, this borders on mental illness tbh, and if we accept every one of you, there might not be enough nut house to hold all of you in the coming years.

Saying this with all sincerity, i am liberal as they come, as i believe the world is already filled with so much pain and troubles and whatever life choices one chooses (or born with) to ease the pain is fine by me as long as it is not weaponized and spoon fed into acceptance but brother/sister, hoping i am not misgendering you here, you have to chill with the gay talk every 5 seconds.😩😩
