Look brother, when this hatred from Igbos were brewing one of the wisest politician in the SE , Soludo , warned you people to stop doing Nsobu, Nsobu politics. He foresaw what was about to happen. You people attacked everything Yoruba in other to promote your candidate Obi. You cut your noses to spite your face. Since time immemorial Yorubas had been the most accommodating tribe in Nigeria but you disrespected them. You people need to apologize to the Yorubas and let bygones be bygones. Igbos did same in South Africa, India, even at Obigbo in Rivers and Wike came ruthless. Igbos need to apologize for the insults.
How did Igbos insult Yorubas? Yes Obi supporters may have insulted Tinubu and other presidential aspirants but I don't see where tribe came in. Is Tinubu Yoruba? Peter Obi and Obidients were insulted too. It only became an issue when the likes of Brymo and co said an Igbo can not be the president of Nigeria that the highest they can get is vice. Is it good?

The trade done in Kano or Aba can't be compared to that of Lagos. There's a difference between coming to buy wares and going back home to sell them to being in a place and making it your domicile or even just residence. That's why we have citizenship by naturalization. That's what Lagos is to many Nigerians not just the Igbo.
Okay even with the "No man's land" assertion, Igbos still know their place in Lagos that's why you will never see any Igbo with enough balls to contest for the governor of Lagos, they merely support.
APC created this mindset in you guys just to help them win and it's just it. Onanuga was warning Igbos to stop interfering in Lagos politics and all of you pounced on those supporting your brother GRV but forgot that many Igbos are interfering in APC like Joe Igbokwe but APC never had a problem with that. The line is drawn when few Igbos endorse someone in the opposition.
understand me ... It is wrong to make such inflammatory statements... No body is disputing the contribution of IGBOS but if you begin to say Lagos is no man's land... It means it is only a matter of time before more things will be concocted . . I am damn sure you won't take it in Igbo land and so don't expect us to take it in Yoruba land.

Lagos is no man's land is a foolish deduction ... Let me buy into you perspective for a second and say becasue you go to a market in Kano to buy and sell means the market in Kano belongs to nobody?? ... Common you have a working brain I will assume ... You mean to say in aba, there are no hausas engaging in successful trade or Yorubas too ? But it will be stupid and arrogant for those Yorubas in aba to begin to open thier mouth and say aba is no man's land ...

There is no other tribe in Nigeria that is as accommodating as the Yoruba people but you people take it as a form of weakness to the point that you now deem it fit to be dragging Yoruba land with your host ... Aye yin fe baje ni?

What you won't dare as an anambara man in imo or any other part of Igbo land, you will be trying in Lagos ... And when you get the back hand, you will be crying to Hague and ICPC ... The Yorubas are the most united people in Africa and it's becasue we value our culture first!!!!! before religion or any other thing. Igbos attacked yorubas to promote obi. Align your thoughts properly sir. LP was never an igbo movement and you know it. Politicians only tried to make it look so. In aggregate they are way more non igbos supporting LP from plateau to even Lagos.

ok I would explain ... From you assertion, you noticed this conflict last week but I have told you there has been seeds planted and watered for a while now...if your claim is true, then I would say you are just seeing the germination process ... Now to answer your question, the mere fact that some IGBOS can even have the notion that Lagos belongs to nobody is a blatant disrespect to thier host regardless of your understanding that it's an old saying... Do you know how near impossible for a Yoruba man to buy land on Igbo soil ? You will harldy find anyone to sell to you but we as Yoruba people having gone past tribalism, happily accommodate any and all people as long as you abide by the rules of the land to now come and hear your guests saying your land is no man's land ... You won't take it on Igbo soil so don't behave that way in a land where respect, kindness and gratefulness is held to high esteem. ... It's not a matter of dragging business or land or woman or anything ... We really have nothing to drag... I am only saying, you don't insult your host and expect nothing to happen...

You mean real estate developers don't sell land to Yorubas? Are you serious? Please direct any yoruba man to owerri, I have some lands to sell in owerri and I will sell to him

There is something I don't really understand about all these happening in Lagos, I even find it funny. Please when did igbos claim Lagos?

Right from when I was growing up, when we started watching Nollywood. Two things were said about Lagos.

One which is "Lagos is a no man's land" which has it's root in the fact that Lagos is a city of commerce where people from multiple ethnicity converge to do some sort of business due to lagos being a point of contact to Nigeria for many business people bringing goods into the country. This was never an issue.

Secondly it is said when you are entering lagos you see "This is lagos" unlike other places where you see "Welcome to xyz". Never been to lagos, don't know how true this is but this saying was popular because Lagos is seen as a place you have to be "sharp" to make it.

Fast forward to the general election 2023. Election in Lagos involving two Yoruba Lagos indigenes. No position from house of assembly to the governorship election has an igbo man contesting.

I've been trying to put two and two together and it is still not making any sense. When did igbos claim Lagos all of a sudden last week? So much that it warranted an attack? The saying Lagos is a no man's land is older than some people that will reply to this post. Why do people easily play into the hands of politicians. The same people overseeing their suffering. Who are the main benefactors of this chaos? Is it you supporting this chaos because I am damn sure it is not. After the election, you and those you are attacking both verbally and physically will go back to suffering the same consequences of bad governance.
by their behaviours and action. There is a proverb action speak louder than voice. So by igbo people action it justified . You abused your host verbally and your votes against there interest . You open brotels ,sell fake drugs in their community .you are too loud for a visitor not only in Lagos but abuja,South Africa . You voted L.P in Abuja Senate against there own indigene

what he is saying is that "the no man's land" statement has been around for years
2. Not only the Igbos say it as a Benin man I have heard it too in the past.
3 during this election period nobody said Lagos is a no man's land but you had yoruba's even notable ones reacting to the no man's land statement, I have seen ffk, bayo onanuga, and others reacting to it but the question is when was it said by whom that this election had to be about proving that Lagos is not a no man's land.
4. All what I observed is yoruba's stirred and trended that statement just to gather ethnic support for political gains, I"m seeing every Yoruba man reacting to a statement but I am not seeing anyone making the statement no be juju be that.
5 you all claim to be defending your heritage by voting for sanwolu but the truth remains if tinubu had given sanwolu the ambode treatment and sanwolu had decamped to the pdp or lp and the Igbos vote for him you would still hate on them for voting for the same sanwolu you all are supporting now, agbaje a pure bred lagos boy in 2019 you criticized them for attempting an alleged takeover of Lagos by allegedly voting agbaje of the pdp, in 2023 the same thing you are doing to the labour candidate but one thing remain agbaje and GVR are true Lagos indegenes, I have never seen anyone who wants to takeover a land by voting for the true indegenous occupants of the land, you can fool your kinsmen with the useless ethnic sentiment those of us in the south south see beyond the lies. Shame.

The truth is the inflammatory statement was amplified by APC to secure Sanwo olu's 2nd term. Especially after Obi's win in Lagos. Same Sanwo olu that y'all fight for was the same one that promised Igbos that one day their son would be Governor of Lagos. My point is never allowed politicians use you to hate another. If Igbos would have voted APC, trust me all this tussle over who owns Lagos wouldn't have come up even if Igbos sing Lagos is a no man's land as a song they would join in the chorus.

You guys can lie ehn.
There's a guy I was arguing with on twitter that said he have never heard any Igbo say Lagos is a man's land. Yet here you are saying its everyone that says it not just Igbo..
If the Igbos don't say it what made the Yul Edochie caution you guys in his IG account?

I support LP and OBi but I don't support GRV, reason because I think the Ibo and Yoruba thing is partly fueled by GRV himself, as a political figure the things he said in the past came back to haunt him, GRV himself is a bigoted soul against his own father's side. I went back to see all he's written in the past and he was always attacking his father's side. Conspicuously he ignited the Ibo/Yoruba war thing. No matter how you compare North with the South whether positive or negative we can still say Lagos has always accommodated all tribes. You will find major IBOs and other tribes in the civil services here and there in Lagos, GRV only awoke the subconscious mind of the Yorubas living in Lagos. I don't know how true but I heard that even in the east they will hardly sell their land to Yorubas, GRV even said on live TV, that I don't reason in Yoruba, he even responded to Adeboyes tweet saying "Typical yoruba behavior". How can you say such rubbish against your fathers side on a public space, you that call yourself a political figure. He kinda even hates his father's side and showing it with lots of disgust.
