Final season ☑️

8 / 10

Always knew Jimmy was the Villain of the story.. my only gripe is that Kim escaped prosecution... That babe deserves even worse than Jimmy
Chuck was right all along, the same pride Walt had led to Saul's downfall

Legend of Korra season 3.....6.5/10

Quite entertaining, but mid writing
It was more of dûmb fun

I enjoyed watching this season...far far more than season 2 which was undoubtedly a very terrible and boring season...
However the writing as usual was leagues below what we got in ATLA...
So many times I shook my head watching this...

Where it exceeded my expectations however were the fights. The fights were quite spectacular...
The final battle between Korra and Zaheer is the best fight so far I've seen in the Avatar series in terms of animation
The fight choreography was great throughout the season...
The villains were powerful but mostly balanced in terms of strength...
Except the àsspull powerups like flying out of nowhere or protagonists learning powers and becoming Masters in 5 minutes

My biggest disappointment however was Zaheer...I heard so many great things about him...
I could not wait to hear his motivations...and see his backstory ...

However when I got his motivations through his conversation with Korra...I was disappointed

Order through chaos...freedom...eliminating corrupt governments...
It felt more like theory and words thrown around without depth...
We got no backstory to know why Zaheer was so emotionally invested in it...or why his followers were too...

Then maybe brainwashing by the Red Lotus? But there is nothing to show any emotional connection that led to this brainwashing...

There was also no convincing argument by Zaheer or his followers to make the audience see his side of things or why they chose to follow that path...

To create a compelling villain, you need to see his arguments, understand his goals even though you can admit his path to it is wrong

Zaheer was all talk but no substance in his ideals...
What exactly does his order through chaos achieve...
Even if he eliminates formal governments, all it leads to is more informal governments...which will lead to formal governments again in the future

Just like how he is the leader of his group, different leaders will emerge and form their own territories...and within years, those territories will become nations again...
And then lead to another set of Authoritarian governments that are equally as corrupt or even more corrupt

I waited and waited to see the substance of Zaheer's argument but got nothing from the show...
I waited for his argument to at least be confronted but got nothing from the show

At the end, I accepted it was mere talk without substance...

Mere dûmb fun...and the only reason why he was regarded as a good villain is cos he was powerful...

Perhaps I expected too much...it's still a children's show afterall

Amazon's pricey Spy thriller is here executive produced by Joe and Anthony Russo. 😉
Interestingly it's the 2nd most expensive TV show of all time behind fellow Prime original LOTR: RoP.
With a $300mn budget it sits comfortably in second and has already been renewed for S2.

Avatar Kiyoshi without makeup. Looks like she could be Kuvira's ancestor.

I dont know how studios have refused to pick up The Avatar. There's a universe of content they can easily ecploit there

I would hardly classify Zaheer as powerful. Dude could hardly fight and wasn't exactly skilled at bending. Someone Tenzin wiped the floor with.
The only impressive thing about him was he could fly.

he became pretty powerful at the end...
When he could fly...he was able to keep up with Korra in Avatar state

And he had a pretty effective team...

Prisons in most Superhero worlds or supernatural worlds in fiction are funny...

After watching My Hero Academia S6 and Korra S3...
You wonder how useless these prisons are...

A prison to hold extremely powerful individuals and it's so easy to break out of...
At the very least there should be a system in place to immediately execute these prisoners on any escape attempt either from outside or inside...

In Korra, you have powerful benders in barely defended prisons...the prisons are only protected against the element these prisoners use...but are useless against outside attacks by accomplices using other elements...to the point that even a single top tier bender can easily beat the few guards and break his people out of the prison...what a joke

In MHA, the prison with the most powerful villains with extremely powerful querks is sitting on an Island that is public knowledge...with only 2 average heroes guarding it and helicopters and machine guns that are useless against supernatural villains...

Or what of the Prisons in Gotham that are so useless that Joker can as well be walking in and out of them at his comfort

Keep up? Korra was poisoned and the only thing keeping her alive was the avatar state.
She never had a fair chance to face the red lotus on equal terms that entire season

Korra isn't that good...

But the poison sef...was weak af...
What kinda useless poison does nothing for the most time and was so easily removed?

Even Azula almost killed Aang in Avatar state without any nonsense poison

i do understand your point...but it depends on the person, not all captains were ready to risk that...

Besides it's not like the shinigami really cared that much about Kurakura town anyways...even if Aizen used the souls there to create the key to the Soul King's Palace...Squad Zero was still there waiting for him...

And they're sure that Squad Zero would handle Aizen if it came to that

Aizen took a part of her soul...I believe that's why she isn't strong...(Rangiku)
Not just her but many other Shinigami...
Gin wanted revenge for what she had lost... Aizen to be punished for what he had done to her and others
Makes sense why he went through with it all, that being said more than half of the Gotei 13 lieutenants are weak AF and makes you wonder why they got the position in the first place and didn't just remain ordinary squad members.

Can't wait for a new set of both Captains and Lieutenants or at the very least some new face mixed in with the old, On to the Gotei 13 Invading Army Arc.

The Zaheer problem is a reoccurring problem in Avatar villains, they don't struggle. Let me ask.

- What did Fire lord ozai struggle with
- What did Kuvira struggle with
- What did Zaheer struggle with

The answer is nothing, you'll have to think hard to come up with something.

What makes a character interesting is struggle, that's why Toph is a fan favorite, we all know what she struggled with and still become a great earth bender.

A boring villain is character the author don't want to struggle, so they don't look weak. Authors need to be learn from Joker.

I generally don't like Villains who are bad for the sake of being bad...it's cartoon definition of black and white...

Although I understand some people are just focused on power and authority...but I find those kind of villains boring

Fire Lord Ozai was a terribly boring villain. I expected more from Zaheer but unfortunately he was disappointing...
The ideals he was talking about made no sense and the story did nothing to critique it...

Also, I generally don't see humans as being that One-dimensional
Even an evil person, in his own mind he is justified...

If you take real world example...most of the world sees Russia as being the villains, but to them, they are justified in their war against Ukraine

What made Thanos a compelling villain was how well you could understand his side of things even if you don't agree with his cruel solution

Sorry to bring in AOT, but this is one of the reasons I love the show so much...it's hard to pick who is really the villain, because most of the characters have their own personal justification for their actions...they have reasons, they have arguments in their favour...
That's why the fanbase is so divided on who the good or bad guys are...because you can understand why characters do even bad things, whether or not you support them...

Some people's media literacy is really poor...

There's a very controversial AOT YouTube reactor channel...they just finished season 3 and accused the entire show of being a pro-nazi propaganda...
Apparently a show using Nazi parallels to preach anti-war and anti-racism message is now a pro-nazi propaganda

It's just like saying All Quiet on the Western front is a pro-war movie cos it depicts war....wtf

How do you properly pass a message against war or racism without showing it?

I honestly don't understand some people

Lol, Wheel of Time is in post production and they already wrapped filming since last year.
It's coming later this year.

You think they announce projects today and you'll see it released the next day? LMFAO... Bruh some projects takes at least two years upwards to get to finished product. That's the major reason networks these days quickly make a decision to renew a show they believe in for the next season and start production before the current season airs or finishes airing so as to quicken its follow up season early.

House of The Dragon that came out last year has already started filming for S2 last week. Do you think you'll smell season 2 this year? It's until 2024 you're getting a S2.
