On a ordinary telling the NPF to not provide security or be involved in such an election given the political fights between a predecessor and successor ordinarily means there should be no election and the governor cannot sought out to use private security outfits in place of constituted ones.

Is it the INEC that had long abandoned the electorate? Is it the Judiciary that has complicated Nigeria's problem by complicated verdicts? Or, the security agents that turn blind eyes to the sins of their paymasters and swoop on the poor masses even when no crime is committed?

More worrisome is that these agencies do not respect one another.

This latest move by the police has added to a number of instances where they have proven their partisanship. They only move in the direction of their paymasters who hold the yam and the knife.

Otherwise, why would the police come out publicly and shamelessly to lick their vomit? The court had told you not to come out to protect the people. You have also announced publicly that you will abide by the court order.

Just to act the script of your paymasters, you unsuccessfully turned to a thieve overnight and can now come out to protect the lives and property of the people.

It baffles me each time I see high profile officers/officials being mischievous!

It is the right of the state to conduct local government election. What is the fault of the governor if he decides to do the right thing at the right time.

It has been clearly stated that no caretaker chairman should be given allocation. If the I.G can open his mouth and say the governor wants to shed blood because of ordinary local government election, it clearly shows where he belongs with the way things are going in Rivers. Again, did the court order bar the state from conducting the election? No

It's sad to see our system not working accordingly in this country. When are we going to get things right?

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has cautioned River State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, from making “unfounded allegations” against him.

Daily Trust had reported how Fubara accused Egbetokun of working with his opponents, vowing to hold him accountable if there is break down of law and order in the state.

Fubara made the allegation after intervening in an incident at the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) office on Friday morning.

According to the governor, he prevented an alleged attempt by the police to remove materials meant for the upcoming local government elections.

Egbetokun, while reacting in a statement on Friday night by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said it was shocking to see Fubara storm the RSIEC office.

The solution to this is the establishment of Local Government Electoral Commission under INEC who will oversee all LG elections.
You cant leave elections in the hands of state government and governors. They will mess everything up. You will hear 23-0, 45-0.. opposition party never win 1 LG in Nigeria.

Fubara u know how they operate, make sure you checkmate them or they will overrun Rivers .
