Lagos witnessed scenes of jubilation yesterday after a miraculous rescue of a man whose car was crushed by a fallen container. The incident, which occurred at Mile 2 en route to Apapa, left onlookers in shock and despair as the 40-ft loaded container flattened the Toyota Camry, bearing registration number LSR 293 Panic ensued as people ran in different directions, fearing the worst. Many believed the driver was beyond saving. However, about an hour later, rescue teams arrived and managed to lift the container off the vehicle. To everyone’s astonishment, the man was found lying flat inside the severely compressed car, completely unharmed. In a dramatic moment captured on video, the man emerged unscathed, standing on his feet without any injuries. The crowd erupted in celebration, grateful for what seemed like nothing short of a miracle. This remarkable escape has left many in awe, sparking discussions about road safety and the need for stricter regulations regarding the movement of heavy-duty containers in Lagos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ycs7ZFESM-U?si=bnEMYM8vvdL4gfsX

Two things: 1) There should be a strong regulation guiding the movement of container trucks and the time they move. The best period should be after rush hours in the night. In China where almost all these containers originate from, they are hardly trucked at day time. It is always when the roads are very free at night. Hundreds of lorries like this in China, yet no accidents. A lorry loaded with a container can not be dragging the right of way with a small vehicle on a busy road during the rush hours. It is a disaster waiting to happen. 2) As a driver, and as a human being, your situational awareness should be top notch. When you see a heavy duty truck, fully loaded with a container, meandering through our bad roads, try to stop and avoid driving side by side with such trucks. They are always one gallop away from causing a big problem for many families. It has happened many times before, but few will learn. Simply apply the breaks and wait. Allow the truck to pass and then you go. Or drive ahead of the truck. It might be all you need to do to stay alive. |

This is a miracle indeed. This is the definition of a miracle, not the type you buy brand new wheel chairs for people and tell them to claim they've been crippled from birth. Meanwhile, an accident scene should be cordoned off. Allowing people around the scene is unprofessional. |

Miracles like this are rare. I watched something similar to this on YouTube years ago. The guy unhurt rolled out of the already flattened and crushed vehicle with no scratch. The mourners present there just paused at that moment. As for this container it will still be allowed to play that road before year end |

There is explanation for this in physics. Nothing like miracle, and nothing like his time is not yet to die. He only scape through, if not just a little diffraction, he would be history |
