Kwara is 90% Yoruba and I challenge anyone to tackle me on dis, kogi has a majority Yoruba tribe in the west, Dino melaye, smart adeyemi, deji adeyanju, and abiodun faleke, are all from dis region..... North-Central zones has a lot of diversity in terms of language as many tribes fall into dis zones..... It amazes me that instead of looking at competence in 2025,some people are still playing regional politics.....
From the tip of the north east, through North Central, to south-south...that's the belt of of minority tribes and parts of NW close to the NC have that too. Nigerians don't learn.

ethnocentric narratives that gained prominence during Olusegun Obasanjo’s presidency where the North was invidiously dichotomized into a “core” and a “periphery.”
I always hate to hear this.

You are correct...same wey you have fulanis spread across North East and North West...none is saying they are not Yorubas....but, on regional basis....They are from the Northern part of Nigeria.

So, if Ojulari becomes NNPC boss as being speculated...then, a Northerner is heading the NNPC.

That's the point

Clearly a poor attempt by an Obidient to catch cruise.

Lolz. So, Yagba people don't speak Yoruba? All these braindead 5 year olds that their parents leave their phones with sef. As in, only an Igbo can be so proud and confident in his ignorance as this. I wanted to tell you to ask your dad about it (since you're still learning how to use google), but I think I will help you. Check the image below. You may still have more idi.ocy in your repertoire to entertain me with. I really want to have some more laugh.
Only if you know how to read and comprehend. There won't be need for all this verbal nonsense. Thanks

Stop being daft.
Kwara is among the 19 northern states and have always gone along with northerners.

What people like you fail to educate yourselves about the north is that you assume every northerner must be a Hausa person. An average northerner knows that the north is composed of several dialects and tribes.
You're a slowpoke for various reasons. First, you inability to engage in constructive dialogue without insulting, and second, your minimal understanding of geopolitics.
Now, Let me educate you. Geographically speaking, much of the region referred to as 'North Central" fall either in the Southern half of the country (Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Nassarawa, Benue, Taraba) or share little cultural and emotional affinity with the Fulani-dominted North. Second, the original name for the regions in the middle of the country was "Middle Belt" "North Central" is the absurd name coined by Northern imperialists, who are hell-bent on expanding the imaginary power of the North, and that is what they are triggered by the term "Middle-Belt" Importantly in a 21st century world and a supposedly democratic country, you don't force people into a region against their will. A vast majority of the people in the Middle-Belt don't want to have anything to do with the Core North. Why are you forcing them into your region? And to show the disgusting hypocrisy of the core north, when Obasanjo started appointing Middle Belters (whom the North claims to be North), the northerners started complaining of discrimination against the North. You guys never regard the middle belt region as one of you, you only use them to shore up your numbers.

This is speaking from both sides of the mouth.
Although he is NC, he is still a Yoruba, which is the root word for Yorubanization.

I am Okun and I am 100% Yoruba. Apart from the fact that I have a full understanding of my lineage and bloodline, I do not need the validation of ignorant folks who think the great Yoruba race are limited to only the South West of Nigeria..

We even have the Yoruba Ajase who migrated from Ancient Ile Ife to the present day Benin Republic.. They are not even Nigerians.. They are even more Yoruba than some Yorubas of the South West who are more Arabic or European in their worldview compared to these non-Nigerian Yorubas who are more culturally grounded.. Same way we have Yoruba Anagos in the Gambia and Togo who are not even Nigerians..

What you are saying is similar to an indigenous Hausa man who hails from Mali or Ghana waiting for the Hausa man in Northern Nigeria to validate him as a Hausa man because he thinks the indigenous Hausa man can only be found in the Northern region of Nigeria.

You should be the one apologising to the general public for displaying an incredible amount of ignorance in the public space.
Well, I agree with you.

Yoruba language has so many dialects, but a true Yoruba will easily decode any of these dialects.
Yorubas are decoding Yoruboid dialects among Igala folks.
Ga, Fon and Adangbe of Ghana speaks different dialects of Yoruba and people like us still understand.

What you called central Yoruba dialects is even more and not in anyway better or different

Kwara Yoruba is purely Oyo which is the official Yoruba dialect
Yoruba people of Kwara and Kogi are the people of old Oyo Ile " Katunga ".
This is why you meet Yoruba speaking people in places like Makera after the Niger bridge.
The first time I met them, they were selling roasted ground nuts at a garage in a place called Makera.
I was like what the hell are you people doing in a place like this?.
And they were like " Ilu wa ni ibi ", this is our homeland.
