Why do Nigerian artistes prefer to release EPs (4 track albums) or singles (1 - 3 versions of the same song) over a standard 10 - 16 song album? I’ve noticed this despite the song-making process being more forgiving these days than in the past. Songs today are 02:30 minutes as opposed to the standard 03:30 minutes of the 90s. Some songs are mostly a catchy hook and nothing else.

One may hit and become your mean to make a name. At the end of the day, you’ll make the same money off a single which a proper album will bring and still possess creativity to release more as opposed to blowing your load on an album.
