10 and 20 naira re not price cuts
They should stop playing with our sense
A real fuel price cost will take fuels to 600 or 700 range. Anything else is media cruise

If your not aware. Ghana cedi has appreciatedby 50% since their new president took over gew months ago. But tinubu depreciated naira by 300% . Turned Nigeria to an apc state and sent cost of living to an all time high.
Let's keep voting lubbish
Do you know why it appreciated? Do you know the dynamics of in their economy why it appreciated? You folks just behave as if its by the wave of a hand!!

It is called wave action phenomenon. There seems to be an apparent movement but it is a mirage.
Everything is at standstill but the make believe rise and fall of the wave movement create an illusive change in position.
There's a deliberate attempt to make Nigerians suffer. We know this and must people accept it.
Re: Despite 6-time Price Cuts By Dangote, Petrol Cost Still High by aribisala0(m): 11:50am On May 24, 2025
You can only talk about high by comparison to a benchmark

What is it supposed to be?

On what basis?

People like to talk without facts or figures

Is it that the price is high or that people are broke?

The price of petrol is based on the price of crude oil. That is the starting point

So what is the cost of production?

If you are in your house and you desire a litre of rain water there is a price or cost for it. It is not free

2 major issues keeping Nigerians suffering are Fuel Price and Cost of Custom duty...

Solutions...

Sell Crude oil cheaply to Nigerian refineries so they in turn sell refined product cheaply to the Nigerian Market (Don't follow international crude price for your own people)... Secure the Borders and make it Life sentence for smuggling of certain quantity of fuel...

Number 2 stop charging Custom duty at the Dollars equivalent for an economy with weaker currency... that will kill the citizens... Fix the Custom duty at a specific Naira rates...

All things been equal... If you fear reduction in your tax income (Government)... The reduced amount you will get have more purchasing power as Prices of Goods and services will be reduced... All things been equal...

Only idiots keep doing same thing and expect different results...Stop doing what doesn't work for you Nigerian Government! (unless you are just wicked to your own people)

Let's think outside the box and see!

"Price cut" just to remain in the news and undue praise from the supporter of the Government in power, that the government is working.
In local parlance we call it "wash wash" or "Barber Chair" motion without movement.

APC should bring back fuel price where they met it in 2015.
Where will the money to pay subsidy come from?

And minimum wage should return to the amount it was in 2015 as well?

O P,you are right.
What Nigerians Wants from Dangote Refineries is a Substantial Petrol Reductions - Not this drop ☔ in the Ocean of a thing!
Let him and other Refineries,e.g NNPC reduced the Prices from N8.35 to N6.50 per a litre - Dangote will be praised by Nigerians, but for now,it's not yet Uhuru.
•Afterall - High Fuel Costs+ and the Bank Borrowing Costs by the Masses,+ Other Prizes are the causes of the High Inflation in Nigeria today.
•Just Imagine - CARDOSO-CBN-Cost of Borrowing of 27- 35 % Interest- Rate Borrowing Costs!
-Is that Not Killing Nigerians Businesses and how Many Nigerians will approach Banks to borrow with this High Interest Rate?

Deltafirstson:
Although the pump price of fuel was N197 when President Bola Tinubu took over on May 29, 2023, the product now sells for N617 per litre – less than two months after.

In his inaugural address, Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone, fulfilling a promise that all leading presidential candidates made during the campaign.

However, pump price of fuel hit N537 per litre days after Tinubu ended subsidy.

On Tuesday, the price climbed further to N617, a development that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) attributed to “market forces”.

Nigerians have been lamenting the hardship occasioned by fuel price hike. Amid the lamentation, a video where Tinubu campaigned to slash the price of fuel went into circulation.

Checks by Daily Trust affirmed the authenticity of the video uploaded on the YouTube page of Channels Television.

At his campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on January 25, 2023, Tinubu spoke on a number of issues, but those of fuel scarcity and naira redesign made the headlines.

However, Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba language, also assured the crowd that though people were saying petrol price would hit N200, it would be reviewed downward under him.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.

King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, a Fuji musician who performed at the rally, interrupted the president’s speech with chants as the crowd cheered.

On the campaign podium with the president were Vice-President Kashim Shettima; Pa Bisi Akande, interim National Chairman of the APC; Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Senator Gbenga Daniel; among other bigwigs of the ruling party.

Tinubu went further to say Nigerians would defy the acute fuel scarcity at the time and trek to cast their votes.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200/N500 per litre. Go and relax, we will crash the prices,” he had said.

Before Dangote started producing petrol on his refinery, you guys were buying at 1250

But for some reason he is not reducing anything

You get any? How many countries in the world is petrol cheaper than in Nigeria?

There are 195 countries in the world. Nigeria’s petrol is the 11th cheapest. In case your brains can’t process what you just read, out of 195 countries only 10 have cheaper petrol than Nigeria!
Those 10 are heavily subsidiezed

Petrol and Petroleum.
Writers didn't even know they are two different things.

"Petrol (gasoline) is a specific refined product of petroleum,

while petroleum is the broader term for the naturally occurring, complex mixture of hydrocarbons and other substances found underground"
So, you know most Nigerian journalism study at night schools?

The government too should provide enough CNG stands in all filling stations
Medicine after death.
From afar, The Man said SUBSIDY IS GONE and that ignite our suffering from day one of the administration.
He could've settle down, provide the necessary infrastructure for CNG, Electric cars before removal of subsidy or the scams in the petroleum sector.
Any price reduction that'll not return PMS, kero, gas , AGO, charcoal etc to the price APC met in 2015 is a scam.
