Don't mind him. Many of them are on record for opposing a laudable project that many generations will benefit.

Enemy of progress. It is worth it.

Now that the project shows good and great prospects, the next thing on the headless mob agenda is to compare it with other things

This is a coastal highway....not just any kind road.

Oya look for another reason to be angry at the project.

The new coastal road will open up new area increase investment in those areas, create job, enhance our water transportation as well as the aquatic business along that corridor
When it is co.pketed and nothing is gained, the campaign will shift to blaming Nigerians for not allowing it to work. It is the usual pattern.

Driving on a straight line is always faster and no hold ups, no threat of kidnappers on coastal highway. Easy straight road.

Connectivity is another thing it connects easily Lagos Victoria Island to Calabar, people living along lekki expressway can easily connect to the highway, instead of going to mainland to connect.. Your article reeks of bitterness.
Wrong...
Bitterness has not still answered the question possessed.
Why build a highway to steer clear of terrorists, like they're the only threat....?

The direct route is actually 753km, that's about 53km more than the proposed coastal road but a whopping 14 hour drive. I expect the coastal road to give faster travel time compared to the main road that's riddled with potholes
Yea, faster travel time,,, if that's achieved,,,, it will be a great relieve to all the road users plying Lagos to Calabar.
As a person that's frequent on this route,,, you spend nothing more than 15 hours making it to Calabar from Lagos. Due to the bad state of the existing road, you have to take a full day break off work to rest to recover from the stress you will encounter while traveling on the road.

Is the stress of going allover from Lagos to Calabar actually worth it?

Old Lagos Calabar route
Lagos-Benin 314km
Benin-Warri 98km
Warri-PH 194km
PH-Calabar 312km

Total ~820km.

The Bayelsa axis (especially the Southern Ijaw area) is of security concern because it's prone to kidnappings. That is a state where kidnappers took into captivity the then sitting Governor Seriake Dickson's biological sister who was ONLY released 2 months later. It was widely reported in the news and Seriake Dickson even vowed NOT to pay any ransom money to the Ijaw kidnappers. Incidentally, those bad Ijaw armed robbers, kidnappers, bank robbers with speedboats through the waterways of Ikoyi, VI, and pipeline vandals, etc, who were disturbing Yorubaland over the years from the Goodluck Jonathan years until recently (Victoria Island, Ikorodu, Epe, in Lagos State, Arepo and Ogun Waterside in Ogun State, and Ondo State) ALL migrated from Bayelsa and Delta States to cause chaos. The videos of how the Nigerian Air Force jet fighters bombed the hell out of those Ijaw criminal elements hiding right inside the creeks of Arepo in Ogun State to steal petrol, engage in armed robberies and kidnappings including the kidnap right from his Palace and dragged into a speedboat of a the First Class Oba of Ibaland (Oniba of Iba in 2016) is still online under the "Operation Awatse" air component campaign in 2016 under President Muhammadu Buhari who ordered the air attacks on the Ijaw male and female bandits who had red cloth tied to their arms to free the Oba of Iba kingdom and others who were kidnapped right in Lagos and Ogun States.

Therefore, the Federal Government in Nigeria, the Bayelsa State and even Delta State (where some lazy elements among the Ijaws might want to kidnap people for ransom or engage in armed robberies) MUST be taken care of to increase the incomes and economic levels of everyone through catfish, tilapia, and crayfish aquaculture, agribusiness in hybrid plantain farming, continuous educational trainings and seminars to open up the eyes of younger Ijaw folks to the unlimited opportunities on the Internet which is the biggest University on Earth and more.

If these suggestions are NOT done, that Lagos-Calabar Highway will become unsafe.
