It seems you are among many others I have come across who needs the deep understanding of the nature of God or spiritual issues for that matter:
For example you admitted that it is good to serve God but in this case what the OP needed was therapy and not God thereby undermining the sovereignty of God Almighty. In other words God has the ability to do somethings but not others. But if this (mis) conception is true then how is he God Almighty? Besides, is God's word (talking from christian perspective) not therapeutic?

2) FAITH standing alone without corresponding ACTIONS is Dead
