Shettima Visits Maiduguri Blasts’ Victims, Vows Stronger Security Push by commoditiesnig(op): 12:16pm On Mar 19

Vice President Kashim Shettima yesterday visited victims of Monday night’s multiple explosions in Maiduguri, his Borno home State, assuring that the Federal Government will decisively confront the perpetrators.

At the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital(UMTH), where some of the injured victims are receiving treatment, Shettima declared that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration remained resolute in its commitment to ending terrorism in the country.

He assured that the attacks would not weaken the government’s determination to secure the nation.

Shettima was accompanied by Deputy Governor of the State, Usman Kadafur; National Emergency Management Agency Director-General Zubaida Umar, UMTH Chief Medical Director Ahmed Ahijo, and senior government officials.

Before the visit to the ancient city, Shettima mourned the 23 dead persons during the closing of the Annual Ramadan Tafsir at the State House Mosque, Abuja.

He said in Maiduguri that the government was ramping up investments in military equipment and logistics to strengthen ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

Shettima condemned the attacks, describing the perpetrators as persons who have “forfeited their place in the human race.”

“It is a tragedy because no religion sanctions the killing of the innocent,” the Vice President stated. “But this madness called Boko Haram will not live to see the light of day. Be assured that no matter how long the night is, it must give way to the light of the dawn.”

He extended the condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the government and people of Borno State and entire Northeast.

He said his visit was to demonstrate government’s solidarity with the people of Borno State in the aftermath of the tragedy.

“I am here to sympathise with the injured and families affected by this unfortunate incident. The Federal Government stands firmly with you in this difficult time,” the Vice President said.

It’s a very good one that VP has visited Maiduguri to commensurate with the victims

Coward elements usually resort to these type of desperate soft target attacks when they’re very much decimated.. Patriotic Nigerians support the FG and armed forces to totally annihilate these coward terrorists.

Once again our thoughts and prayers to the people of Borno.

So a vice president can go to public and talk about a plan or policy without confirmation from the president? I never knew that was possible.

If a king sends a messenger to deliver a message, would the receiver say it was from the messenger or it was from the king?

If Vance in US says we will implement a policy, is he the one that decides it or it's Trump that decides it?

If Tinubu says it or not, what difference does it make. Does shettima saying something that him and the president agreed upon make any difference? I just showed you when shettima said it and you are asking for tinubu specifically. What are you going to use that to do?
