I've been toying with the idea of buying a car on NL for a while so I've been studying NL car dealers.. I almost fell for Demola too.. until those threads start coming up..
I fell in love with your threads initially, because your cars where affordable.. their were all manner of dealers on NL with all manner of inflated prices.. Inspired, Fhemmmy and his clone (femmy2010) and you have to give it to them they have pretty clean cars.. they are even trying to bring down there prices, I saw a 2003 corolla for 1.5M from 1 of them.. though thats still a little high..

Your initial thread had the appeal of affordability, but from this thread I can see you are moving away from that..
A 2004 corolla for 1.8M
2000 C240 for 1.7M
Vox sharan for 1.2M
These are clearly overpriced. I don't know why you think you can make it on NL With these inflated prices..
If a 2004 corolla is 1.8M, How much will a 2008 camry be.. 3.5M

i thought kakakibuy uses a different method from that of other nairaland dealers, i hope your slogan still remains " we don't resale cars, pay exact price of the car"
if this is what you still do then avoid giving people total price, give them the breakdown and let them do the permutation themselves.
what i do know is that kakakibuy is an honest nigerian, he negotiated the price of my car with the dealer and got a discount of 400&( i never envisaged this).

The slogan and mode of operation remains the same. Pay exact costs only. No inflated prices, since We don't resell for profit. What I am trying to do with this Point 'n' Kill thread is to highlight low cost vehicles. I want to present the pictures and the low cost so the customer can make up their mind quickly. A complete breakdown of the cost will reveal the same thing - Exact costs only - No hidden cost.

You are right. I just pre-ordered from him and yes, still got to pay the exact cost price.
I think what peeps find unbelievable is the fact that some of those vehicles can cost that high, but on checking online, you'll realise that there will be 2 cars with same trim and same year of manufacture with a wide difference in prices. Prices are dependent on a lot of factors eg mileage, title and maintainance.
It took quite some time in my own case, to get a sports model that fits my budget. I was just lucky to have an advert pop up at that time with a top of the line vehicle, for a relatively low price. I think that's why he'll indicate that the prices are for the particular car in the picture he posted. If the prices are not to your agreement, simply tell him to search for another within your budget (if that budget is reasonable), you may be lucky to get one. But if you are unlucky, well...
Know one thing though, he'll never sell you a cheap car for an expensive price. I can attest to that fact.
