It still happens o, especially when the person is from a particular tribe your parents. Don't like.

Talk to them and make them see reasons n go with someone u know ur parents respects very well and let the person talk to them and ur behalf

You try and discuss with him or her. Try to convince them. Make them understand you are an adult and that you also know what you want and what is right for you.

Depends on the gravity of the love oooo. I remember when i was crazy in love with my first love. My parent didn't like her but i really didn't care o. What an elder sees while sitting down a young man/woman can't see from atop a tree. The words of elders are words of wisdom so try as much as possible to reason with elders b4 u make the biggest mistake of your life.
