Q. Are Christians Obliged To Become Involed In Politics And Society? by devine99(op): 8:31am On Jan 06, 2015
A .It is a special duty of the Christian (Catholic) individual to become involved in politics, society and commerce in the spirit of the Gospel: in charity, truth and justice. The Catholic Social Teaching offers clear guidance in this regard.
Partisan political activity is, however, incompatible with the ministry of bishops, priests and religious who must be at the service of EVERYONE.
Those in the clerical and religious state can indicate the variables of good governance: concern for the common good; esteem moral values; speak against corruption and selfishness etc. But they must leave the choice of who to vote for to the freedom and conscience of every person.

Being a Christian shouldn't stop you from making your own choice by voting in a person who you think will represent your common interest... as the Bible commands us to obey the authorities.

But getting involved in politics is another thing... As politics itself is not a game of the righteous...

Yet again, if a Christian doesn't go into politics, who will rule who?

If you dream of a perfect leader with the fear of God,that shares your faith... surely one of you must take the bull by the horn.

Why should a Christian involve himself in politics?

Jesus didn't; why should we?
