If one is a hosting reseller one would expect to have absolute control of sites hosted under its reseller account. but viewbound systems technologies owners of vbhostnet.com are trying to kill the image of its clients and to destroy the businesses of its clients client.

Its not up to a month i concluded my journey on making an ecommerce site (tiptopclothiers.com) which took me me more than four months to finish due to the clients constant i want this, i want that, i want the other. and the immense delay of my client to provide products (items and details and prizes etc).

Thank God, i was able to upload products and update its prizes, availabilities, discounts etc and after integrating the payment system and the rest.

To my greatest surprise, i was shocked to receive an un expected call frm my client seeking to know why their site is not online. (shocked!)

I was in my village for xmas, and i didn't travel with my laptop,, so i had to try out the site on my phone only to surprisingly discover that the site is truly offline.

Though i was not much surprised cos vbhostnet.com has done same thing to me on several occasions when i was developing i-buye.com i had to redesign, re upload i-buye.com more than three times that made me to disagree with them and asked them to restore the site at the fourth time.

Now, they started on tiptopclothiers.com, wiped out the domain, wiped out the files and folders of a site that took me more than 5months to complete, when i was hoping that once i get back to lagos in jan. i will attend a meeting arranged by the owners of tiptopclothiers.com for official hand over and to collect my balance so i can repair my faulty laptop.

Now, see what viewbound systems tech are doing to me. i called them last two sundays to know why the site was deleted but there was no just reason, they said the site was deleted because he thought that the domain was not pointing to their servers which is a pure lie.

He said they were being conscious so that my reseller account is not hacked! hmmm, then i asked him, even if the domain was offline did that give you the right to delete my sweat of over 5months?.

At it all he pleaded that was going to restore the site which i asked him to.

But after 7days nothing was done i had to call them again 3days later, they said they were working on it. till yesterday morning i opened a support ticket and called them again, they asked me to open a ticket and i told them i already did! i got no response until today, and all they could say is"Am sorry am unable to find any backup for this account".

Well, viewbound, am sorry o, but like i said earlier my laptop is bad and i dont have any backup for that site.

My 1cent advice is,
If you were quick to delete my site always without asking for my permission in the name of fearing it was hack, then you should have more than enough backups to restore my site when i eventually call you to inform you that it was hack free!

Meanwhile, i don't want any problems with you guys therefore, kindly restore my site within the next 24hours before my client eventually takes legal measures against me cos i wont hesitate to do same against you if need be!

One company (for reasons i dont want to mention its name again here) did that to me on three occassions. When i decided not to host with them anymore they seized my domain names refusing to let me have control of them. Men I have to spin a lie to all my clients telling them that Onyibo panel changed their domain names. I have to change all their domain names at my expense. And you have to consider that their complimentary cards, billboard need to reflect the new name. it was not funny. I thank God I later see a more dedicated and sincere host and has never given me a cause for concern

Let me tell yu a story that happened in 2012, which happens to be my longest year ever. I bought a reseller hosting package from this same company for 30,000 Naira of Nigerian money. When it comes to uploading files and setting up site on the space allotted to me na so wahala starts. If I wasnt bus. restoring my clients hacked site, I will be busy calling their customer support line for one thing or the other, To creating a ticket for support.
After loosing 12 websites under my administration to loosing projects because my clients doesnt trust my competency I learnt my lesson.
Guy go find better host, pay them good money and in return you will be able to charge your clients very well.

Wow... that's pretty disturbing. Someone once said that most Nigerian web hosting companies are bunch of opportunist, that have no clue what web hosting actually entails. I think you should do yourself a massive favour, contact a solicitor and sue your web hosting company.

Legally, if you have lost out financially through no fault of your own then you may consider taking legal action against the company you believe was responsible for causing the loss. In this case you can sue the company for damage caused to your business, this could be loss of business due to any number of factors, loss of important records and data

You can also sue the comapny for negligence, further more; breach of contract, a financial loss suffered due to the failure of the company to meet a contractual obligation.

Don't worry if you don't have the money to sue, the web hosting company will be responsible for paying all the legal expenses should they be found guilty as charged...

There are few good web hosting companies in Nigeria, personally HostNigeria is outstanding and a lot of webmasters that have dealings with them will tell you that you can never get a better Nigerian web hosting company than http://www.hostnigeria.com.ng

If all Nigeria web hosts can be like hostnigeria then who needs foreign web hosts

You are not likely to get any solution from the proposed "legal action", I shall advise that you look for an alternative way to solve the problem - am not sure of what options are left.

Seeking a legal redress will be in the long run, a mere waste of time and resources expecially if your host is a able to prove its case.

I think you should hit the keyboard and start allover again, it may be painful but that may likely save your face in front of your client.

Why on earth should a client drag you on for over five months on just one website? My take on this is, you're either a leaner or you made your self desperate to work for them at a very rediculous price. My advice, next time, please give a client a time frame for a project to be completed and all materials must be made available within such period and failure to do, they should at least pay you your balance. You may decide to charge them extra afterwards for time wasted.

Take a look at this, a client commissions you to do a website, you told him, it'll take you one month to complete and from your estimate, a one month data plan should be enough to complete the website. The client then dragged into a second month, will your data provider refund your expired data plan after a month? My brother, please let's be business minded in all these.

I am not that type of person. I was not eager to take a web job, the job was done with 80k, and was suppose to be ready under a month, but then it was delayed and i was not worried cos i had other jobs to attend to that was why.

Hmmmmm.......that hosting nearly crumbled one of my biggest deals when I started web host reselling and I have no choice than opt for dedicated servers abroad now and I'm fine.

Most of these hosts are actually branding Nigeria's serious minded persons names not accommodating.
