Viewing a documentry about nigeria, it is so obvious that Abacha's reign is the most brutal of all...
The reporter said "Buhari showed nigerians FEAR, but Abacha REDEFINED it...
Now here is the question, HOW DID YOUR FAMILY SURVIVE THAT UN-HUMANE MOMENT?

Nah God o! I remember my friend's family switching to 1-0-1 (that is breakfast, no lunch and then dinner) and we wondering if we were next. There was always light sha because one of his generals lived in our area and NEPA did not DARE take light or else someone would find their way to kiri kiri. We also got used to people dressing terribly in mismatched hand me down clothing. NO ONE had clothes... no Christmas dress...if you had gold, you never wore it to church or wedding because you afraid someone was looking and would suspect you had foreign connections to get the gold. Another trip to KiriKiri for questioning.

Very very rough period for us...

I was in pry 1-5 (1994-1998) @ the time....

No food in the house.... Mummy was always going to collect rice, beans and garri on credit....

Dad was driving a Datsun 180k.... When oda peeps were busy flexing 504s and 505s....

Our school fees only get paid when exam starts or few days after....

But what amuses and annoys me most...

People were throwing owambe all night parties left right and center....

Fathers would go to beer palours to drink and drink but if u ask them for N20 exercise book, they will say no money angry
