I have never experienced split wndst before even I was natural but yet to begin the natural journey.

I got split ends in December after I tried a twist, then a twist out. A friend trimmed it for me with a normal scissors. I was detangling few weeks after in January and I realised that I have gotten it again. My hair has basically been in afro till I decided to plait it last week. I am thinking of getting the right scissors and trim it again this weekend

About my hair

My hair is fineb and curly. It tangles very easily.I can easily detangle it now, style it, then few minutes later loosen the style. I will have to start detangling all over again from the basics if I intend to style it.

Would you say it is my comb(wide tooth comb), because I brush my curls out before styling and it sometimes revert to its natural state or was it because I used the wrong scissor when I had my first trim. Or would you suggest I keep my hair in a particular style rather than in a bun.

I deep condition every time I wash. I use cantu shea butter as leave in and I moisturize everyday.

Hello, regular scissors are fine to trim your hair, or perhaps your friend didnt do it properly. Except you are a using a denman brush I would say its your brush, natural hair shouldnt be brushed. Its safer to use a wide tooth comb to prevent split ends and breakage.
