Where will you be on the 13th and 14th of March 2015?

In 2011 Thai Agro and Allied Industries sent about 20 individuals for their first international Agribusiness Executives summit, to be trained in the areas of Vegetable, shrimp, rice and fish farming in Thailand.

I was opportuned to be a member of the team. Back then I was not exactly financially "comfortable" as I am now. It took every scrapping of penny for me to enroll in the summit. I remember the visa/transport/feeding/accommodation/conference fee cost about $5,000. and then it was really big money to me. It was a 3 weeks training

The training cost me time, money and alot of other things. But I made a conscious decision to go for the training and utilize everything I am taught. A decision which today has changed my life. (I cant say the same for the other 19 participants from Nigeria).
I have not missed a single international Summit ever since then.

Most are neither practising nor using the wealth of knowledge that has been shared with them. They saw the trip as a field trip or tourist trip and not an opportunity to make change and impart the nation.

Over the past 4years, since my return, I have freely trained over 500 individuals on agribusiness and vegetable farming. I own farms with monthly revenue in millions. Some people on Nairaland, Twitter, Facebook, BBM and whatsapp have also been beneficiaries of that one single sacrifice I made.

Don't get it twisted, the sacrifice was not just the fact that I spent time and money training in Thailand. Not at all, that was the easy part. The Difficult part was coming back home and starting up something!
So, before you answer my question at the beginning. you have to do a brief soul search and see if you are ready to:

1. Start something after the training? (No matter how small)
2. Make the Sacrifice of being at the Training?
3. Humble yourself to learn from practical Agribusiness Entrepreneurs and Be Bold enough to go out there and make some money.
If your Answer to this 3 questions is yes, Please go ahead to register for the training below.
But if it's no. Don't bother coming, because this training will be another money wasted. (Like the 19 participants)
NB: This is the first time the Thai Agro Executive Agribusiness summit will be holding in Nigeria. It might not hold here again after this. You can never be sure.

I just stumbled upon this pic in my gallery and decided to share... Last year the government gave land to Thai Agro and Allied to set up a pilot cucumber farm. Guess who they called to set up and manage the farm? Me! cheesy so, yes, it's one in a long lists of farms I co-own or manage.
Imagine my surprise to visit the farm and see the governor eating my cucumber. shocked. Remain small make i shout Ole! grin Lol. Long story short, that visit has helped me access a lot of ministry of agric facilities in Imo state.

I laugh at people when they queue up in government house to submit proposal. My belief is that if you aspire to be the best, and actually get there. you won't stand on any queues

Moral of this story: Whatever you are doing, be the best at it and watch world Leaders queue up to meet you.

Thanks to Thai Agro for helping me get here o. honestly

My brother, mulch na mulch, whether plastic or straw. I am using 100% Manure coated wood chippings as mulch and it will nourish my soil while it discourages weed cheesy

Why have we decided that every thing fresh food in Nigeria must be sold in dirty environment. The dirtiest places in Nigeria are not our Refuse dumps. but our fresh food market, from our slaughter slabs, to meat market to vegetable market and the rest of them. Are all very dirty. And the most pathetic part of it is that we the consumers are left with no choice that to take it as we see it.

Well, am looking to change that, I believe with the large consumer market Nigeria has, we should not be restricted to only one variety of crops or conditions.

I think a consumer should have a full description of what he or she is about to buy. And choose the one that is closest to the specifics he requires.

For example, a consumer has to know what specie of vegetable he's buying, under what conditions the vegetables were stored or produced, the chemical residue percentage of the product, the practise used in producing the crops (organic, inorganic, synthetic).

These and more are what we are looking to expose our people to and offer to them at still the best prices. You'd be able to order your weekly vegetable supply online and have it delivered to you at home.

These and more are the things we plan to offer in the farm being developed now

I am looking to changing the game. And by the special grace of God, we will.

WOW! From page 0 to 19 was so enlightening and educative. Honestly I duff my hat for @Jasper7, Jethro2, Soloxam, Pavore9, phollar, world1 etc... and all of you who have contributed in information sharing on this thread. I feel challenged. I have learnt quite a lot from this thread.
@Jasper7, I'd like to visit your farm someday. I reside in PH.
May God's grace, wisdom and favor rest upon you all and all good things you lay your hands on to do.
Thank you so much!

Good idea. Lovty idea. Its achievable. its realistic. If Zartech can do that very well in the processed chicken aspect, Chi Farms can do packaged for shelf eggs with the branded Funtuna eggs, why not vegetables and fruits?

The world is waiting for this to come to fruition. I bets its our epileptic power problems that causes the rot in fruits and vegetable market. If their was stable power supply, Nigerians would have been thinking in that line knowing fully well their produce are secured.

Then the issues of the cabals and Shyloks who are the dealers in the various markets. All those waste fruits and veggies are the supposed profits of the farmers because farmers have been shortchanged. They are at the mercies of these middlemen.

Those people are in for a shocker because we are boycotting every major market and delivering straight to our target consumers
