Not just Nigerian movies. Any movie Dat is a novel adaptation is usually very crappy. Read Harry Porter, Twilight, The divergent, 50 shades of Grey, any novel adaptation at all. You would stick to just the books. They are not very detailed. Not telling the whole story. If u want d full drama, I advice you stick to the books. They are usually the best. That's what I do.

Game of Thrones came out pretty nicely though....

hehe practically watched all the movies in that list. so am a true nollywood fan grin

though in reality the money gotten from this movies aren't as much as to what they actually spend. This would tell you alot about our movies here.

so 30 days in Atlanta is 1st in this list? i m not surprised with all the actors involved and the location etc

The movie was just to boost his comedy show. Very stupid storyline, with all the hype i was expecting something unique and intriguing. Trying to tell so many things at once and it just made the whole thing crappy. He passed so many wrong messages in the movie has well.

Anyways who is that one that said Ije is a silly movie? it passed a message across to people unlike the no 1 on the list.

loved mr and mrs, though i felt the wifey didn't deal with the husband enough grin Cool movie.

flower girl first Nigerian movie i have watched in a cinema. funny the poster was deceiving looked like an African American movie poster not the one on this thread though another one. so i enter to start and to my greatest surprise it was Nigerian shocked i cant waste my money so i was forced to watch and it wasn't all that bad for a Nigerian movie in fact the story was just too western.

Desmond Elliot (in the cupboard) and yvonne nelson (house of gold) almost had the same storyline. i wonder who copied who undecided house of gold made more sense than in the cupboard esp towards the ending.
weekend getaway another Desmond movie, very confusing and another over hyped movie.

figurine would remain my best so far! kunle guy tried mehn, i was so speechless after the ending of that movie.

waiting to watch October 1 though.....hope it is worth it and it doesn't end up like 30 days in Atlanta.

The movie was a let down. Naija cannot reach when producers are not allowed to show the true pictures especially the Nigerian/Biafran war. You can remember the hullabaloo at the time of its premier. The censorship board felt it would cause another civil war. Till we learn how to properly tell our stories, naija cannot reach.

Don't be too sentimental. Igbos were running nollywood before the rise of cinematic movies in Nigeria. All nollywood celebs, Omotola,Ramsey Nouah,Segun Arinze,Richard Moje Damijo,Desmond Elliot,Olu Jacobs etc owe their popularity to the so called Asaba/Enugu Igbo movies. That is where they started from,it was the same igbo productions that made them popular all over Africa. Most,if not all of these movies were a straight to video production and their distribution houses were in Idumota,Aba and Onitsha. It is the same nollywood group that made Ghanian actors popular in Nigeria.
Following the advent of cinema movies in Nigeria, most of these top actors have crossed over and these movies can be produced and directed by anyone irrespective of ethnic origins. Infact, hollywood is free to come and produce and direct Nollywood movies.
Refrain from ethnic bigotry if you want to be taken serious.

Trust me, thats how movie adaptations are when you watch them after reading the book..

I felt the same for

The bourne series
Harry Porter
Man on fire
The shooter etc

The only reason i gave lord of the rings a pass mark was because i read the book after watching The movie

Once you watch the movie after reading the book first, you'd feel like killing the director

I've watched Flower Girl way too many times, it's the sole reason I paid for my subscription to iRokoTV. I liked Contract.& Last Flight to Abuja. I've been trying to be a good Nigerian girl looking for legit online copies of Phone Swap, but the one legit Nigerian online platform keep doing some weird 419 stunts not to show it - ibakaTV failed badly on this, it never plays....maybe I'll give it another try.
