Beautiful analysis. Politicians would say and do everything to garner favour and attention. They should invest that money into infrastructures, power supply shld improve. Some small scale businesses in Nigeria have collapsed due to erratic power supply. It is not enough to give out money to jobless youths, but to ensure that the system and environment is favourable.

Yes, it has been decleared that the government is hoping to pay 5000naira cash to 20million various bank accounts of some selected jobless Nigerian Youths, the yardstick for the selection, I don't knl 5000naira * 20million proposed beneficiaries = 10billion naira monthly..
10billion naira * 12months = 120billion naira expended on this social scheme.

Dear OP, you made sense,

But if Nigeria should get broke, let it be because everyone lavished, not because a few men in power lavished.

If a few men will have no issue sharing about 9B on wardrobe stuffing, then its not bad for 20million persons to buy drinks, be merry, and get high on 10B.

A MATHEMATHICAL ANALYSIS OF THE PROPOSED #5000 STIPEND FOR THE UNEMPLOYED NIGERIAN YOUTHS WITH A SUGGESTIVE WAYFORWARD......falemara bidemi.

Now let's go mathematical, 5000naira * 20million proposed beneficiaries = 10billion naira monthly..
10billion naira * 12months = 120billion naira expended on this social scheme.

Error.

5,000 * 20,000,000=100,000,000,000 not 10,000,000,000

I.e 100Bn not 10Bn

The op is right.....bashing out money the country doesnt even have is senseless, it will put it into.more debt and fuel the corrupt system even more but investing in infrastructure and training of the youths will not only help them but it will also boost the economy.

What you see is economics, what they see is politics.

The scheme may work but for a little time.

How do we control the child birth which is an essential variable of the scheme.

How do we teach our youth on fishing rather than giving them fish?

How do we stop that scheme from growing into another 'subsidy scam'?

How do we reliably gather the data usable on that project?

Why not Mechanized agriculture, why not empowerment, why not industrialization?

As u see am na so i see am too oh.

OrlandoOwoh:

How have the Unemployed Benefit Funds the UK pays to youth adversely affected their economy?

Because the economy of UK generates more excess revenue than Nigeria. So far Nigeria can't match UK. The UK is 5 trillion dollars economy, while Nigeria is 500 billion dollars economy, we have greater unemployment rate and they have just a hand ful of people unemployed, with their revenue and the little number of me unemployment, they can afford to pay the unemployed youth. But in Nigeria, we have so much infrastructure deficit which has made our GDP low, we can't afford to spend 120 billion naira on paying youth when we have so much infrastructure lacks. If we do for how long will we pay youths?
