Oh I see.

It'll still be best you direct your correspondence to a person in particular, hence my suggestion of your Grad Asst...I'm pretty sure your Grad Asst. can not possibly be your Supervisor or is He?

And the Offer always has a timeline but this won't be a problem because when the Letter is dated is always put into consideration, and you don't have that yet.

Anyway, you still have sufficient time left, and I'm sure you'll be receiving it soon enough...nothing serious to worry about.

Good luck.

Alright ma, I'll keep trying, thanks.

@crich, Do you have someone in thread that get TRV, without the bank confirm the available balance in the account. because, I want to my bank headquarter,I asked those guys, and they told me embassy do called them, and they disclose the available balance as at that date to them. I m now wondering why you said, they can't assess to someone account for verification.

You shouldn't be bothered about that tho, as long as your statement is legit.

I'm not panicking, its just that I have a scholarship somewhere else to accept by august, and applying outside Nigeria is something I'm not sure of how the trv application works. And I have to make a decision on the scholarship depending on what ottawa offers me.

Okay. I think I understand better now. Looks like you still have the rest of June & July, that seems like more than enough time for you to decide. You'll get it soon.

Hmmm! This is VERY strange. If u heard from d horses mouth, then it should be true. I spoke from my years of experience as a bank ex-staff. Maybe i was wrong.

Yes, the money may leave the account. Happened in my case and didn't affect the outcome of my application. It is advisable though to leave a meaningful amount to make things easier in the event that you need to reapply. Hopefully that would not be the case.
Pls can I mail u, I want to ask some questions. Please God bless you.

There's been lots of arguements about this particular topic in previous threads, and according to experts, they don't actually ask for people's acct balance, they only do verification of the statement, that's if atall they call the bank cuz they don't do it in all cases, and this is how they say its done,
* did so so transcation take place, in this account on so so date?
* and the bank gives a Yes or No answer.
Not that they outrightly ask for your account balance from the bank.
I believe they will request for a new statement of acct if they want to know.

@omooba2015 I hope this helps u rest.

@TLOTRS

I was in constant communication with the Admissions Department so when I mailed the admissions officer informing her that I had accepted the offer, she asked me how I will like the hard copy sent and also asked me for an address as well as postal code. I gave her my address and requested for the offer to be sent by courier. It was sent through DHL and I got it in less than a week.

I really disturbed that lady sha. Lol

Note: I was communicating with my departmental admissions officer.

Hi Goldtooth,

I reside in Montreal and I have friends in Concordia. All their courses except for Language majors are conducted in English. It is possible to get permanent residency after school if you meet the immigration requirements. Quebec has a different process which includes a French competency test but once you are in Canada, you can apply for permanent residency in any province. You are not bound to remain in Quebec. Your application to the federal skilled workers scheme would be assessed based on the immigration rules in operation at that time.
In summary, don't let the worry about permanent residency deter you from applying to Quebec if that is where the course you are interested in is. There are a lot of English speaking people (Nigerians inclusive) who have settled in Quebec. As for getting a job, yes it is possible to get a job, though customer service jobs might be a bit more challenging as it would be preferable to have someone who is bilingual for such positions. Nonetheless, I know Nigerians with little or no French who studied (and are studying there) and have jobs.

Thank you VERY VERY much for taking time to respond to me and for giving me a detailed reply. I really appreciate it. You addressed all questions thoroughly. Interestingly i saw your moniker while reading previous pages and it caught my attention. I was going to mention you and ask if you stay in montreal. I will now focus on getting the admission first. God bless.

Bro my blood need to hot oo. Information is very important oo. I have a friend who went to the uk to do his masters and after the program he had just three months more to get a job or return to nigeria. This is their policy and my friend didnt know about it when he was here. My friend could not get a job during that period so he returned to nigeria. He started looking for a job in nigeria like other masters holders and when he couldnt find a job he had to return to the company where he was working before he left nigeria. That to me is waste of money. It is better to plan all the way to the end. Experience is a bad teacher so it is better to learn from the experience of other people.

It is even a red flag if your sponsor just dumps a lump sum, without a reason or proof..
Just take ur time before reapplying, and make sure ur sponsors account is okay.

NEVER! It's absolutely impossible for them to confirm someone's account balance from the bank. It's not done. Take ur mind from that. Only authorised government personnel can do that in cases of fraud, money.laundering, n related crime.

During my brother application two year ago , CIC Called the bank to confirm the bank statement, was told by my dads account officer.I think it was just to confirm the authenticity of the bank statement not the balance in the account .

some people here have been asking questions about the implication of a 1year study visa (PGD) and a 2 year study visa (masters) in relation to the duration of work permit and PR after school. i remember someone analysed this in detail towards the end of part 7. MEVISBLEEK i think, not so sure. i already did a lazy search and couldn't find it. please guys link me to that page. i want to add that link to the list of links here. cheers***

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by tnuola(f): 7:44am On Jun 20, 2015
Hi Oyin18

I can't mention a particular figure, just make sure there's enough to take care of your expenses for one year, tuition+ living expenses.

Are you asking for yourself or for your sponsor? The least you can submit is 4months

I was also happy when I saw there's a med testing centre in Ikeja. But when I called to make enquiries, was told I would have to come twice, because the test will take two days
So I just made d 1 day island trip.
@Gods1son did you have to go to IOM ikeja twice?

It's not true. I completed mine in a day. I actually went there to book an appointment first, the appointment can however be booked by calling them.
