I didn't ever imagined this thread would make front page, but it did and I appreciated everyone that contributed when the thread was on first page. By then I was not even close to my laptop/ipads, was in the village sorting family issues n other things. So anyway i got lots and lots of inquiries. Ok I am in Vietnam right now, I traveled with some Nairalanders, few others will be joining us Next week when their visas will be ready. For those that could not travel to Vietnam but want to order items you could do so now. Tell me what you want to order, either clothes, tiles, shoes or whatever. I can show samples on Viber or Skype video calls, if you are ok with the price and quality then I order them for you.

Like I always say, its always better to see whatever you are buying with your own naked eyes first before ordering because pictures can deceive. I once ordered items from a big UK store, their pictures looked very ok but when they arrived Nigeria it was fake and lower than China quality. Since then i stopped buying certain things online. So this is only a caution. Instead of relying on my Viber and Skype video please go to Lagos or Onitsha market you can get high quality shoes/clothes at discount prices. Things are dead cheap in Onitsha bc most Importers have their warehouses in Onitsha and besides, most Vietnam ships sail straight to Port Harcourt seaport which is very close to Onitsha.

So many Nairalanders have been asking me to give them phone numbers of importers in Onitsha or Lagos but I refused. Do you know why? 1. its not ok to give out other peoples contacts without their consent. 2. if something goes wrong you would say I have connived with someone in Onitsha to steal your money. So to avoid that go to Onitsha market, its not hard to locate, when you get their you will see several importers and wholesalers, its not hard work. I am being careful I dont want anything that will soil my name tomorrow.

My first cargo left on Friday and another one will leave on Tuesday next week. Most cargo planes land in Lagos first, so those in Lagos that ordered things from me will get their goods on Saturday next week.

I just want to update this thread.
First off, I thank God for journey mercy.

Anyway there are several things that I want to say. But I will just stick to the most important ones.

Vietnam is not issuing visas to Nigerian passport holders for now. I just found out 2 days ago. There are so many people on Nairaland that want me to help them come to Vietnam for shopping. Some of them might think I am no longer interested to help. Read on you will understand.

Vietnam visa usually take 7 days or less to come out. I submitted some visa applications last week and its over 9 days now, none of the visa applications has been approved. I just spoke with a Vietnam immigration officer 2 days ago and this is what he has to say.

He said the Vietnam government recently discovered that so many Nigerians are living in Vietnam illegally. Most of these guys claimed they were coming to buy goods and would return to Nigeria within 1 month. But some of them have been living there illegally for months/years. It happened to me few months ago. So many people contacted me from Nairaland for visa assistance, they used to call daily but they stopped calling and phones switched off immediately after they got their visas. These are the kinds of people that are causing problem here and there. This is main reason I have been reluctant to reply most people that are contacting me for visa because one i am not on ground in Nigeria to know who is genuine and who is not. Sadly Vietnam government is now punishing innocent people because of the sins of few people.

WHAT VIETNAM GOVERNMENT IS DOING PRESENTLY: Lets say your company name is called XYZ Shipping company and within the last 1 year you have invited 200 people into Vietnam, the government is going through their records to know how many of these people actually returned back to Nigeria at the end of their visit. If they find out that some of your customers remained in Vietnam (illegally) after one month they are going to penalize your company severely. The punishment includes that you will be banned from inviting customers to Vietnam plus heavy fine otherwise your company will be closed down. So until this investigation is over no new visas will be issued.

SO WHO SUFFERS MOST: The Nigerian owned businesses that depend on us the importers to survive. As for me if I cant get visa to Vietnam I will go to another country where I can get visa. So its these shippers that will loose mostly because the more cargo they ship to Nigeria the more money they make.

For those that ordered clothes, shoes and eye lashes the goods are on ground and will be delivered to you on Monday.
For those that are waiting for my approval to send visa fee, please hold onto your money or try other sources.

My next port of call is UK and Turkey starting from Monday next week. Contact me for bullet proof doors, sumo and water pumping machines.

How many South East Asian countries have you visited to arrive at that conclusion? Have you ever been to Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia etc?

Vietnam might be a poor country but they are still ahead of Nigeria in anyway you look at it. Check my posts I am one of the few Nigerians that trust and believe in this great country but there is no way you can laugh at a country where thousands of Nigerians flood to daily to buy basic things we cant produce in Nigeria ranging from clothes, shoes, rice, tiles etc.

Can we even feed ourselves, hell no. Every year we spend billions of dollars importing rice, shoes and clothings from the poor Vietnam, they enjoy steady electricity 247 from year to year but in Nigeria any day we manage to get 18 hours of uninterrupted electricity we run to internet forums to celebrate. In the same poor Vietnam, I stay in 3 star hotels with steady light, free high speed wifi for less than 20$, but in Nigeria same hotel costs over 30,000 naira with noisy gen sets everywhere. How much do you pay for poor internet services in Nigeria?

Most shops and boutiques in Europe are littered with shoes and clothes made in Vietnam. Poor Vietnam is currently building speed trains while rich Nigeria is still using ancient locomotives. I have visited many Vietnam cities there is no street with pot holes there. In the rich Nigerian states, can you drive 5 minutes without seeing potholes? Where exactly is Nigerias wealth since we have no good hospitals, no light in many homes, most schools and hospitals are poorly equipped. My own beloved sister died during childbirth few years ago bc of poor healthcare, such incident is almost non existent in poor Vietnam. See how we celebrate ordinary shopping malls in Nigeria but these are basic things poor Asian countries have been enjoying for years and they don't make noise about it. Check internet pages and see how we celebrate shopryte for opening a shop in a certain city. Go to poor Asian countries and see what real shopping malls look like.
