What used to be hearsay is finally coming to reality as the Secretary of the Lower Niger Congress appears live on international screen to spearhead the agitation for a renewed restructuring push.
The secretary of the congress Mr Tony Nnadi today 6th of August on AIT's Kaakaki lambasted the federal government for its obvious neglect of the people of the LNC and the need to dismantle the current failed system and revert back to regionalism or the 6 geopolitical zones. He made more comments regarding several issues bedevelling the country and his solution to them. Indeed, from his voice one could discern a charismatism associated with true revolutionaries, the likes of Che Guevera, Ojukwu and the likes ( no hype intended).
Who is watching this with me please.
Your thoughts.

ok.. the only thing that can save this country is true federalism, where each state control their resources.

But the question is are some sections of this country ready for restructuring? We all saw how the National Conference report was swept under the carpet. Even if we from the SS/SE resume a renewed push for true federalism, how are we sure the owners of Nigeria won't sabotage it? You and I know who these owners are.

This reminds me of your emotional but fact laden article ' Nigeria has a date with the truth'. Most times I wonder if a curse was placed on this country. How can our leaders be this daft. We all know that this country is heading towards disintegration and yet they pretend as if all is well. It never too late to turn back the hands of the clock. We either RESTRUCTURE just like every sensible country or DIVIDE the shit hole.

We're a deeply wicked, selfish and brutish folks who clearly lack good judgment on what to do to solve our problems. We know our problems but have deliberately refused to sincerely solve them.

It's a question of time till ONE of the options must happen. Let us keep deceiving ourselves.

You know my friend, when growing up I was awed about everything Nigeria. I was proud to come from that country with a big label ''The Giant of Africa''. The whole world talked about us with admiration.
For Africans in Congo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, South-Africa, Angola and Namibia we were not only God sent but the undisputed big brother of the sub-saharan. But, take a look at us now and you wonder if that title was a mistake. A country as big as Nigeria is yet to understand how to solve its internal problems. What a shame! A country that fails to discern when the rain start beating her will surely not know where to dry herself.

If they like it or not, we won't remain in this present state. They can have themselves to own, not us.

They may not own us as individuals , but it is fair to say that the current failed system is favourable to them than us.

Let's stop talking biafra instead we should be clamoring for true federalism. A lot of states are lazy because of the free monthly money they get from the federation account. I think the time has come when states or regions, as the case may be, will control their resources and contribute a quota to the center. It's obvious the present system is not getting us anywhere. See the case of Osun state and the other states that have not been able to pay their workers, oil price crashed at the International market and it's already bringing about anarchy in most states in Nigeria . How we explain the vast arable lands that are uncultivated in these all over Nigeria . I strongly believe that if our present system is changed and we control our resources
..... the centre, which would be the federal, would build strong institutions that would checkmate corruption.

And you think the don't know all these? You underestimate their capacity for oppression.

Anyone clamouring for true federalism, regionalism, confederalism, resource control or anything along those lines is living in misplaced hope. How will you get any of these things when we all know that the 'parasites' known as Northern Nigerians will use their numerical strenght at the National Assembly to scuttle any such move? The North will never allow the south any form of restructuring because the current fraudulent unitary system is rewarding them handsomely. That is why I believe that the only way out is secession. We have to divide Nigeria! I'm an Igbo man with no historical ties to the Hausa man, so why am I in the same country with the Hausa man? There is no going back on Biafra!!

A hard pill to swallow but that's the simple truth. The host must deploy whatever means necessary to rid itself of the parasites.

That's why when many nigerians argued that the major problem of nigeria is corruption, it made me shed tears because corruption doesn't exist on its own but on a structure that's already in existece, so, what breed and shade corruption in Nigeria is the structure that institutionalised the entity call nigeria so till we restructure and build strong institutions, I wonder how we intend to get rid of corruption. So if some section said they want the status quo then we have no option than to demand for our freedom.

I almost wanted to create a thread to address that fact. But thanks. Corruption is a symptom; the disease is the SYSTEM.

Did you say no historical ties?

Please do me a favour gerara here. Go and read the history of the Fulani empire and its embargo in the south-east before Nigeria was even formed.

But wait, the fact that you are saying you have no historical ties with the north is really beyond ignorant, you have shared the same land borders, same territorial waters, same trade and so much more for over 100 years.

My advice is that grow up and stop deluding yourself with your pathetic fallacy dream called Biafra.

P.S go and learn the meaning of history.

I mean historical ties with the North before the British came to create the land of confusion called Nigeria. There was none. And even if there was any, it is up to me if it means anything. The only delusion here is your belief that the White man can come from Britain to tell you who you are. A white man cannot give you your country. It is for you to go and find your country instead of foisting your self on people who don't want to be with you. Go and get a sense of self determination instead of remaining a slave of the one Lord Lugard determined for you.

The story is almost the same across the entire African continent. A lot of nations are still operating the expired system selfishly designed by their slave masters. It's even more appalling that we have refused to be reasonable enough to agree such systems will never work and must be replaced with a better and workable one. Africans are their own worst enemies.
