Only in Nigeria that witnesses dont show up in court and noone does anything about it, instead they try to persuade them......I thought once a court summons someone, he has no choice but to appear or face the wrath of the law himself?

Witnesses can not be compelled to show up in court.

It is the duty of the prosecution and defence to bring their witnesses to court..

witnesses can very well be compelled....if a witness is reluctant to show up, the court can issue a witness summons and if he still doesnt show up, he faces a prison sentence.
