Its more stable, more secure, cheaper and linux can also be easily reconfigured to include only the services needed for your business's purposes, thus further reducing memory requirements, improving performance and keeping things even simpler and faster. I recommend Linux based servers, because they provide better availability and response speed than Windows servers. |

Sir, There is no such thing as which is the best! It depends on what you need it for. I have both Windows and Linux Servers.. For example, you want to create a Project and the language you have deemed fit to be the best for the project is ASP.NET obviously you need a Windows Server and not a Linux Server. Linux has its advantages so does Windows. So no one is better than the other. And from your appearance i see you run PHP Websites.. So what do you need Windows Server for in the first place? It will only cost you more as they are more expensive. So go for Linux.! 2 Likes |

oapeleo: I disagree.. It depends on the kind of Windows Server purchased. I have a Windows Server with 32GB RAM and 1Gbps Network Port Speed also with 500GB SSD. It is as fast as a jet in terms of response. Even faster than all my Linux servers. |

coolsix:You last line is funny! Looking at your spec, are you on vps or dedicated sever? ------- If the op want to run a php or python powered website, forget windows and get yourself Linux. Please note that Windows vps in most cases are more costly than Linux because windows license is not free unlike Linux. |

hilaryiwens05: There is only going to be high rate of Bandwidth consumption... RAM Memory Consumption.. and Network Speed will reduce and you would need to upgrade often. And i must warn you about SpamHaus SBL and RBL. Many Data centers DO NOT appreciate their IP Address being listed on RBL. So if you are selling SMTP most clients buying it for marketing are spamming and as such your Host will have no choice but to stop your VPS and charge you $25 SpamHaus fee. So be careful there! Good luck |
