They claim to b very fast and the cheapest by any comparison .
This isnt my experience.
The modem setup is a pain.
The help manual is a write off.
Their customer care couldnt walk a user thru the setup process via phone ( a negative for them).
The modem connected on my system after a frustratingly long time. I had pulled out the usb when the button became active.
Download speed was around 4.+ kbps! (4 point somthing) . The only page tht opened was google.
No other web page could.
Torrent download? A joke. The searches cuoldnt acquire seeding data not to talk of connecting to peers.
In all the experience is a joke and i sorely regret buying their modem.

wow are you sure about all this coz I use spectranet and none of this happens to me..After installing the modem driver and interface,it connects straight up,no issues at all.
I never read the manual so I can't say anything about that.

All pages open even torrent sites and hacker forums/sites.
I download torrents like crazy almost everyday,did over 30GB of torrent downloads in less than a month.(Are you sure that the torrents you try to download are being seeded at all)

Very unusual. Try to install on another computer.

Yeah. The modem is not working for me. I was drooling over their cheaper rate and fast speed (compared to mtn )
I was told i could download up to 40 gig for as low as N5k/month. so i was sold.
Since i bought it, the modem just been a dud. the interface is web based - and it doesnt connect instantly -
the help manual is a joke like i said. just a printed sheet of paper you get when they give you the modem.
You download an app from a number url (192.168.10.1) - the help instruction was so poor i had to visit them a second time
to get it right.
You logon to a web page,click on a connect button (lucky if it enabled) before you can browse.
Most times,this page has both buttons gray (disabled),the lucky time it was enabled, it wouldnt automatically
become enabled after i disconnected.
Download speed - sometimes less than 1kbs! average 4kbps! . I could only open google with that but nothing else.

I've just exhausted another mtn night plan , i bought 2 days ago - downloaded and browsed without issues on the same system - so my system isnt the issue.

I'm based in Lagos bro,I just exhuasted my 20GB plan on saturday in 15daze,that's how well it works.I don't know about connecting online though,never even heard of it.Didn't your modem have the modem installation files in it coz I connect through the modem interface.Lastly do you have a wi-fi modem or a single user dongle (mine is a dongle)...

You go to a url to download the installation files. Not like huawei modems tht runs an executable on the modem.
The downloaded file is supposed to install a program tht launches a web page each time you insert the modem. From this web page, you click one of the buttons 'connect/disconnect' to control your browsing.
Like i said earlier, this step is wacked and doesnt always wrk.
The web page rarely launches - hav to do it manually.
The control buttons are rarely ever ready - usually grayed out .

The promo supposedly gives free 5gig with the modem but i cant browse anythg with this piss poor servce.

can you take a picture of the dongle,mine is a huawei modem and it came with the connection interface so I honestly am very confused coz the products on their website only list one type of USB dongle which is the type that I have.

As far as latency goes,it is pretty stable,I stay at 1.5-2mbps when browsing and it is always above 2mbs when downloading or streaming so I think it should be pretty good for games..I don't have the wi-fi modem so I couldn't test the network on my PS3 but I'm guessing it should be just fine coz I once tried mtn on the ps and it worked well enough..Hope this helps. And also try to get info on whether spectranet is good in your area to avoid heartbreaking tales.

The difference is 2 Megabytes per second VS 2 megabits per second. I'm based in Lagos.
