3 LADIES THAT ARE MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN LINDA IKEJI http://mrrights.com.ng/index.php/2015/10/30/3-ladies-that-are-more-successful-than-linda-ikeji/ In the last few weeks, the news of a Nigerian female blogger, Linda ikeji buying mansion worth N500million in Banana Island, Ikoyi Lagos has littered the airwaves. Indeed, in a society where young people, especially women are mostly relegated, this is a good news worth celebrating. The achievement is even more sweet considering how hard she worked to acquire such success. Beautiful Linda Ikeji Beautiful Linda Ikeji However, while Ikeji, who is into celebrity gossips seems to be making headline for her wealth, especially her material acquisitions, we must not forget to celebrate the main achievers, who are touching lives of many others in positive ways. These are people who hardly think about themselves, young ladies who often put smiles in faces of others, extend helping hands to the needy, provide succor to the most helpless in our society and empower others to stand for themselves. What more could be described as success,if not what these ladies and many of their likes are doing to better the lives of our people. Linda Ikeji's N500million Mansion in Banana island Linda Ikeji's N500million Mansion in Banana island The truth of the matter is that, I am so much happy for Linda’s success, but while she may have the luxury of buying N500million to show off her wealth, there are other young ladies who can burst of such wealth or even more, but rather than acquire mansion to show off, they spend such resources on helping those who need it more. Some others don’t even have anything close to that, but they continue to provide support, from the little they have to lift people up, cloth those who lack, educate children and many more positive accomplishment. Here, I will show you some Nigerian young ladies who should serve as true role model for other young ladies across the world. Rabi Maidunama Rabi and some of the sickle cell patients under her foundation Rabi and some of the sickle cell patients under her foundation Rabi is the founder of Maidunama Sickle Cell Foundation, she is herself, a sickle cell warrior. She is a classical example of successful business lady, but one thing stands Rabi out among her peers, it is the fact that, all her earnings in business goes directly into her foundation. Despite her health challenges, she is the very hard working type who neither rest, nor sleep In pursuit of her dreams and aspiration in helping humanity. I have never seen a young lady that is so full of courage, motivation and passion. She works all round the clock to provide for the over 20,000 sickle cell patients under her foundation. She cares for them, cater for their health bills, maintenance, education and others things. She moves from one state to the other in search of Sickle cell patients to assist, organizes countless programmes to education families in rural communities, provide free genotype test as well as free drugs to the warriors. To the best of my knowledge, if people like Rabi wants to buy N1billion mansion, she could afford it, that I know for sure. However, rather than acquire such luxurious home, Rabi would spend such resources on providing help to her fellow warriors. Rabi Maidunama Rabi Maidunama When the news of a possible cure for Sickle cell came out, Rabi’s reaction is worth recalling here. She states that, ‘’As the news is circulating about cure for Sickle Cell, I want to remind that the so called cure 'Bone Marrow transplant has been available for years now, it is not new. The only difference now is that this available stem transplant comes with no chemotherapy. The question I want to ask now is, is it FREE! or affordable? Rabi in a sickle cell event Rabi in a sickle cell event She maintained that, millions of patients can't afford basic routine drugs and access to medical care and If this treatment goes for N1million for example and we have 30,000 patients, tell me how we are suppose to deal with it? I am definitely not interested in getting a cure myself because I am just 1 out of many I care for. Until this is free for my fellow warriors, there is no new excitement for me. This is the Rabi who cares. Rabi with Former president Ibrahim Babangida Rabi with Former president Ibrahim Babangida rabi with ibb Anifowoshe Titilope Tawakalitu Titilope is the founder of Eagles Foundation for humanity,a Non-Governmental Organization working tirelessly to improve the lives of young people, especially those living in the rural communities. Anifowoshe Tawakalitu addressing people in one of their events Anifowoshe Tawakalitu addressing people in one of their events This young lady is still a student, but her passion for humanity is unquestionable. Just recently, her and her team of dedicated young Nigerians embarked on a fund consuming project of providing food, cloths and other materials to the rural communities. They went to 5 communities in Kwara State with materials full of luxurious bus. Beneficiaries of Eagle Foundation Beneficiaries of Eagle Foundation However, despite the successful distribution of those materials, Anifowoshe wasn’t happy, her mind was heavy even with the obvious joy and happiness on the faces of those who benefited from her gesture. She was worried that, the stress, management, resources and finances expended to get those materials to these communities might seem like a big deal, but its effectiveness or usefulness is very transient. anifowoshe She said, I don’t feel like an achiever, if within a month or so, the materials supplied get exhausted. To this young lady, if she has N100billion, it won’t go into buying expensive mansion, rather, it shall be channeled into the development of the rural communities and youths. This is the true definition of success. Petra Akinti Onyegbule Petra observing a child Petra observing a child Petra is the founder of Tiny Beating Heart Initiative, an organization with the aim of reducing neonatal mortality with special focus on preemies. She is also a development practitioner with bias for advocacy. This unique lady is many things rolled into one. In fact, she is an example of everything a lady would like to become. She is a wife, a good one. An achiever, business wise, advocate of truth and reorientation and a humanitarian per excellence. I do not know if she has so much money, but I know she would use whatever she has to support those needing help. Petra with gifts for donation Petra with gifts for donation While commending the hard work of Linda and her achievements so far, I would advice her to see success beyond the wealth one amass and the materials acquired. Your success cannot be complete unless it put smiles on the faces of others. It should be noted that, success cannot be entirely quantified merely by material acquisition or wealth, certainly not, success is much more than that. True success is that which put smiles on the faces of others. Now that Linda has achieved one side of success, I look forward to seeing her join the above young ladies and many others in putting smiles on the faces of others. http://mrrights.com.ng/index.php/2015/10/30/3-ladies-that-are-more-successful-than-linda-ikeji/ |

@mrrights, The woman who owns "Hearts Of Gold Children Hospice" should be on your list. She's tooo much. She takes care of special children some of them picked from absurd places like trash site... Fashola also tried for her..... But we need more people like that woman in Nigeria.. Linda Ikeji has a choice to spend her money anyway she wants.

This is a great read. Lifestyle of service to humanity is the most fulfilling. Although, everyone has a right to direct their earnings towards any angle they desire. |

Why are some people always using words wrongly? How can you describe people as haters simply for sharing their view about certain actions. |

She is still successful and a role model in her own right. I don't know why people, especially men seem to feel so threatened by Linda. I don't see male celebrities being compared to the male counterparts in charitable arenas. Why is that? |

Hum.. Threatened, how? |

mrrights:The fact that you (assuming you are male) would create a thread in an attempt to basically discredit Linda (a woman) is probably because you are threatened or at least uncomfortable with her success. Soo many Nigerian men have issues with Nigerian women who are successful while being unmarried or single. Let me ask you...... Why have you not seen it fit to create the same type of thread comparing male celebs to their counterparts in charitable arenas? Ask yourself why and get to root of why Linda's success irks you. There is one thing that NL has revealed to me. The ego of the Nigerian man is extremely fragile and they feel out of place if a woman is happy or successful without them being involved or the reason. Celebrate these other ladies and we should know about them but why try and use them to bring another woman down? Well get ready for a higher blood pressure the next time Linda purchases a house in Banana Island, Abuja, New York, Dubai or Milan. |
