Mr Jango I get issues with anatomy which textbook do you prescribe.

Yes I go for holidays, altho technically there are no holidays in med school. When other paramedics are given weeks or months for vacation, med students are mainly given a week. And about me reading at home? Yes I do. Nd I tink I read more durin d holidays as there are no lectures to distract.

As for the hostel issue; I tink it depends on the individual and to some extent the school. Some students find it hard readin with disturbances and dere will b lots in d hostel. Readin too may b affected as roomates may not b supportive of d light bein on durin night study.
Where the school comes in is, for schools wit hostel subjected to med students exclusively, stayin in d hostel will b more tolerable.

There is no hard and ffast rule, stayin in campus has it pros and cons. For example, stayin in the hostels makes it easier to participate in group studies, get to class earlier, get informations easily etc...
Interesting! Thanks...Mr. The Points Are Clear...

I tink u shld luk 4 ur strengths and apply it to mk ur choice.

Chaurasia - preferable for students requirin anatomy to b digested to bits b4 absorption. Simpler terms and easily remembered diagrams.

Last - Gud for students who already have an idea on anatomy. It doznt explain and uses lots of unexplaineed anatomical terms. Poor diagrams. Valuable during MB preparations.

Keith Moore - voluminous but gud for students dat can absorb easily. Lots of clinicals. Gud for crammers too. My choice too.

Never used Gray and Snells so I cant gv tips on them.

Disclaimer: this is based on my personal observation and thus opinion.

U can allso get Arcland videos, they tend to mk anatomy stick, itss amazing.

D day is here, me and other 59 med students in the cadaver lab staring at d mysterious bags on the slabs. "Hmmm" i said to my sef..."they even put them in bags, human beings lyk us". I must v cried a lil inside. The smell of d room was xtremely irritating at best. Then we were placed into 6 groups of 10 students. I was in group 5.
Then next was us being introduced to 'OUR BODY'... Cue laughter and tears at d same tym. My groups body was a man (can i still call im dat?) probably in his late 30s wit gunshot wounds. I wasnt scared, no, scare is nt d ryt word. I was terrified to d point i felt i culd run hilariously away from d lab. Well i didnt... Lol
We were not goin to do any cuttin today... Just get used to d bodies... "lesson learnt, can we pls go?"
na so e dey start o

lol. It wasn't that special except being the first lecture. The lecturer was lively and it makes it different from lectures I had in faculty of science. We started with CELL. I can't believe I don't even know things about that simple cell I have been doing from jss1.

Cadavers....Hmmm...where do I start from?
Well, they refer to DEAD humans used as a guide for medical students and even researchers to visualize anatomical parts of the body.
Mostly these cadavers are bodies of thieves, criminals or accident victims whose bodies had not been claimed after demise.
So its not unusual to see gunshot wounds on these bodies or burn scars. Female bodies are ussually rare for obvious reasons.
First put off by the cadavers is the utterly annoyin smell partly due to its gradual decay and the formaldehyde. Trust me the first few weeks will b close to unbearable. U will perceive the smell almost every where around u, no matter how much u wash ur hands and lab coat. Eatin 'morsel' foods will be suspended on ur list. Months tho, and u used to the smell as it bcomes less annoyin, and the nose masks starts becoming rare.
Wat do we do wit dese bodies? We CUT!!!, yes cut as butchers. With each lectures in gross anatomy, u go to the lab and visualize and identify wat uve learnt. If u are thought the axilla (armpit), u guys will cut (dissect) the armpit, openin it open and identify d contents: Every nerves of the brachial plexus, arteries, veins, some pectoral muscles etc. Seeing these structures makes wat uve been thought alive.
Hopefully av give a lil insight into the gross dissection.
U will enjoy it bt major advice: stay off beef for d first few weeks, it will wanto mk u puke...LMAO
