Watching Manchester United play today, it struck me how much has changed in d three(3) years that Sir Alex Ferguson last led the team. With people making comparison on every turn I thought it wise to put up something on this ish. So, here goes:

1. Under SAF Man Utd always played with 2 wide men who derived joy from running at defenders n making inch perfect crosses for the strikers to convert while LVG's wingers seem to prefer short passes.

2. Under SAF there were obviously no sacred cow, anybody can get the famous 'hair-dryer' treatment but LVG seems to favor some players eg Wayne 'Wazza' Rooney.

3. With SAF united were known to grind out late wins(Fergie time). 5 mind of extra time seemed to last so long then...u either concede a goal from play or dead ball situation.

4. Under SAF d RB n LB seemed to provide options on d wings but with LVG it's an entirely different story.

5. Under SAF there were some games where united would go all out to score....long balls, long range shots, dribbles, crackers, penalty appeals, mind games, etc but with LVG a higher possession seems to be satisfactory.

6. SAF always got up to spur on d players, shout out instructions and call d ref's attention to certain anomalies but LVG seems connected with half-time talks.

7. With SAF there were some games that u just knew United MUST win but with LVG na draw sure pass.

8. SAF had a penchant for spending little and converting prospective n average players in superstars while LVG somehow buys stars n leaves them worse than they were.

9. A trophy-less season under SAF was a disaster but with LVG a top 4 finish is a accomplishment.

10. I would not for the life of me miss a united match under SAF(win or lose there were always moments of excitement) but under LVG united r simply boring.

NB: LVG=Louis Van Gaal while SAF=Sir Alex Ferguson.
