Akure's one of the most tranquil cities to live in. Get to anywhere from anywhere in mere minutes. I've never seen anything more than the light market traffic.
Also, you've got to love their neat comfy cabs, cabs that can pass for wedding vehicles.
Oda Road is fast developing, and Igbatoro will soon be a main hub of activity, thanks to Shoprite and the newly completed event centres.

nobody asked you sweetie.

you talk too much, not nice.

This OP must be high on osogbo weed, how can u say ilorin is better than Ibadan, it seems u know nothing about ibadan, am sure u're one of those who tavel thru the express to Lagos, and feel u've. Seen the city. bukola saraki or the present Gov will tell u na lie. I am currently working in ilorin, am an engineer. My brother stop deceiving yourself, dont let the roads you see all over the city deceive u to believe ilorin is better than ibadan. Ask those who live here, you wil realise many here are realist. It seems u're just out to ridicule the city(ibadan). In everything Ibadan follows lagos. Take a vacation to ibadan and please spend a week, am sure u'll be shocked at what u'll see. Akure is indeed coming up, but it is the effort of many past leaders and present and nt just mimiko's work. Some even told me wen I visited that agagu did some of the dualisations.

I disagree!
Akure only became the capital of Ondo state as at 1996! Before then, Ado Ekiti was the capital of Ondo state and all our infrastructures and projects were built there until the town was carved along with Ekiti to become an independence state!
Ever since then, Akure which became the capital after the incidence was just the same while the administration made no effort to develop the place other than the government house and the federal secretariat.
The likes of Agagu faced his Okitipupa while doing nothing in the whole state! Adefarati was the same too! All he did was to face his Akoko land where he was able to entice the state and federal government into building the state university and Nysc camp in Akoko land! he did employ people though but with no consistent payment of salary.
Only Mimiko led administration has really done something to refurbish not only the state capital but several Lga. Every lga for example has modern market structures that has toilets and bathrooms, every Lga also have Mega government school with modern facilities (standby Gen, Swimming pools, Computer lab, AC and Fan) and at least 2-3 free luxury School buses per each LGA, Mother and Child hospital in several lga etc! Have you forgotten when he was demolishing several slums and houses that blocked roads in Akure?
There was no Lga he didn't touch! Although, we could say Akure and Ondo towns really felt more of his presence than other lga (e.g dual roads, medical school, medical village and hospital, the Dome, shoprite etc) but one thing is certain, all the lga felt Mimiko's work.
The only problem in his administration is the shortage of power and impromptly payment of the worker's salary! The shortage of power already had his attention with the newly constructed 1000MW power plant in Omotosho (still in progress)!
Mimiko really tried! I just pray the next administration (whether PDP/APC) will continue the good work!

I'm from Ekiti, but lived in Akure. I'm surprised you or anyone would say Ado-Ekiti is better than Akure. Ado is only slightly better than Oshogbo.

Ado isn't even better than Oshogbo!

Ado is the least developed state capital in SW.

For me, Akure is the third most developed state capital in SW after Lagos & Ibadan.

I would say this administration has tried!
Only Mimiko led administration has done well to refurbish the state although he lacks in some aspect like promptly payment of salaries! However, his projects are quite visible enough!
Projects such as Dual roads in various lga, Mother and child hospitals in various lga, Medical village with diagnostic and trauma centres in Ondo town, free school buses for school children in all lga, Mega schools with standard infrastructures like computers, swimming pools, fans, AC etc in each lga, Modern markets in each lga, the international event centre (the Dome) in Akure, Medical school in Ondo town, 1000MW Power plants still in progress in Omotosho etc!
I still believe he can do better in the area of prompt payment of salaries!
If subsequent administration can continue the good work, the state won't be recognised in few years!
I saw that dome o, not too far from the newly opened shoprite and mehn I was wowed!
even the ultra-modern schools I had to go closer to check the name of the school before I believed it was a government school.

if I have my way I would just relocate there and leave this noisy and too busy lagos.

All his achievements listed above are correct except for the medical University. As at 3rd quarter last year no structure on ground. It was only on paper that the project was executed. When we got there, it was the mother and child hospital they used as annex.
The most unfortunate thing is that the University is in his home town. If he did not complete it's building project before the end of his tenure, that will be the end. That was what Agagu did to Aderafati. He relocated the science and technology wing of the school from Akungba to Okitipupa because Aderafati did not build enough structures before he lost his 2nd term election to Agagu.

You are quite right!
However, all what is needed are just lecture theatres, offices and laboratories. He should be able to do that within his remaining 2 years.
His saving grace is the medical village. I don't think any new administration would just move the school without having to build new modern hospital which would probably take about 2-3 years before it reach the standard of the medical village.
Also, the students are likely to resume this year albeit in a makeshift theatre hall but at the end of Mimiko's tenure, the older students would likely be in 300-400L at the time. These said students would be dealing with clinical aspect of Medicine and would require a standard teaching hospital for their practise! Hence, any sane government would think twice before moving the said school!
