"Conventional warfare is a form of warfare conducted by using conventional weapons and battlefield tactics between two or more states in open confrontation. The forces on each side are well-defined, and fight using weapons that primarily target the opponent's military."

Friend, Buhari is correct. This has happened several times between BH and The NA. Do some research and you'll see. You could do with some decency though.

A conventional war involves regular conventional armed forces representing nation states!

Is boko haram a conventional force?

The answer is NO!

Conventional warfare is the use of conventional - traditional -- means to wage war. The two sides face each other on the battlefield using weapons against each other, with these weapons usually not including biological, chemical or nuclear substances. Unconventional warfare, on the other hand, uses unconventional weapons, targets the civilian population as well as the armed forces, and specializes in unconventional tactics. In the U.S. Navy, unconventional warfare(guerilla warfare) is often the purview of the SEALs, the Sea, Air and Land troops who go through an incredibly intensive training program, including Hell Week. After this specialized training, SEALs are capable of using guerilla warfare in battle, including infiltrating into the enemy's camp, destroying enemy supplies and creating diversions. In addition, they build relationships with foreign nationals, move against enemy targets through ambushes and rescuing hostages, serve in counterterrorism squads, and engage in special reconnaissance, spying, gathering information and doing the preliminary work to prepare for an invasion of armed forces.

The Nigerian Army isn't considered a conventional force either when it comes to discipline, training and strategy.

Why you think France refused to allow Nigerian troops participate in the fronts against Malian Toureg rebels and Al Qaeda?

Decibel the IPOB old man

U keep using your alt monikers to start useless threads grin grin

At least give us a source to this story

And I am sure you know the meaning of context? Conventional in this sense means the usual method used by BH to orchestrate their attacks. Their ability to conduct their usual conventional attacks has been significantly destroyed.

Grow Up IPOB old man

This is what the report says:

A Civilian Joint Task Force confirmed the attack to SaharaReporters, he said ''we are under attack by Boko Haram. There is heavy fighting with military in Dalori and Wanori.”

The military continues to fight back Boko Haram at the filing of this report.

I know you love BH attacks because it helps you to wail but unfortunately for you, under Buhari, the Army is performing well

You go cry old man , this is only the beginning cheesy

Conventional wars follow laid down UN conventions.

Ignore the hacks.

Now they want to term boko haram as a regular army.

Not knowing that Boko Haram are still considered civilians

The reason why the military hands them to the police to be tried in regular courts.

If it we were fighting Cameroun will captured Gerdames be sent to kirikiri or a POW camp?

Pls answer these questions first:

1. When captured, where do boko haram members end up? Is it;

A. POW camp

B. Prison.

2. If Nigeria was fighting a war with Cameron and Nigerian Army captured a platoon of Cameroonian gendarmes , were will the captured Cameroonian soldiers be held?

A. POW camp

B. Prison
