I've yet to meet a first class graduate of a Nigerian university richer than Dangote, Otedola or Anyim! I was part of a large graduating set in 2008 and even though I frowned upon my second class lower result, I'm still shocked that most of the first class and second class graduates from that set are still either unemployed or working with a company paying a maximum of 300,000 Naira per month, when will such people build 50 million Naira houses or their own companies? I've come to the realization that degrees are worthless in absence of opportunities and opportunities are useless without action...... angry angry angry

We all make mistakes. . . Even many comments here is full with worse mistakes. . .
Social media has done more harm than good to this regard.

So I decided to do some Facebooking few minutes ago and the moment I opened my Facebook app, this was the most recent update on my timeline. I couldn't help but share this with y'all. I had to hide names because I'm good like that (:

That you didn't make a first class honour isn't anybody fault but your village witches. Bros, you should be more concern about securely a gainful employment and not fooling yourself in Nairaland and other social media sites. First class grades are not and are never easy to come by. First class honour is not bought at Ladipo market. Its quite unfortuate that Nairaland has been taken over by failed, frustrated, f**ked up and confused homo sapiens.

Are you aware that some phones suggest words for you and when you edit and post your message, the wordings would be different from what you typed or intended. The world is enough for the wise.

Most of the people commenting here are the real illiterate and ignorant ones. Who the hell told you guys that degree certificates go hand in hand with how to write or speak English? If you all don't know, you might speak and write English so badly but still be a genius and be a first class degree candidate or holder. English is not a scale for knowing intelligent or dumb people, English is just a language.

It just amazes me how people swallow whatever others say without even thinking for a moment if it's true or not. With that low level writing why should I for a moment believe he graduated? ...even from Primary school ? Anybody can post anything on social media....but we should always chew before swallowing.

Re: First Class Graduate Who Can't Spell 'Distinction' by Nobody: 7:27pm On Feb 03, 2016
erm i don't understand you people sha, so because he made a spelling mistake, he no longer deserves the First Class or what.....everybody makes mistakes, First class graduates are normal human beings not aliens.... you can correct somebody without sounding insultive because it only shows how pained you are....this goes out to d OP and everybody else that fits the OP's Category
Re: First Class Graduate Who Can't Spell 'Distinction' by Reference(m): 7:29pm On Feb 03, 2016
Not just the word but the whole text, poorly constructed, reeks mediocrity. If there is one virtue such a high mark affords it should be a clear desire for excellence in every product of thought. I remember the only first class student in my faculty back then. Boy he looked, talked and walked a potential genius. Meticulous to a fault. Well these days with colleges offering all sorts of courses you can excuse an honours candidate in mortal combat or religious jingoism.....

Anybody could have made the same mistake, its a typographical error, that's how my phone misbehave at times, especially if i enable predictions... You that said he sorted to pass, if it were that easy why didn't you do same? Third class is punishment, sort and get at least a second class lower if its that easy and stop envying someone that reaped the fruit of hardwork

From me, congratulations to him, it wasn’t easy but God saw you through.

I have a so-called first class graduate engineer colleague from OAU who begs me to solve his energy balance and design projects because he can't.
And these are basic problems any intelligent 300level chemical engineering student can solve.
The point i am trying to make is that there is nothing special about OAU, Unilag or UI. Graduates from there also flop like '' no man's business''.

grin

you didn't get my point...

not a first class from those skols... not like they dnt av average students too

you can't compare their first class with d ones from the mushroom unis. (public & private) we hear about.

Stop blaming the guy, it is likely he typed it in a hurry, not even taking notice of the spelling, Let us all also remember that BBM is likely to underline the work for him in red, but due to the happiness that has filled his heart, he forgot to correct it.

SO DONT BLAME HIM, THIS SHOULD NOT BE A YARDSTICK TO MEASURE HIS BRILLIANCY

Losers always looking for the flaws of others, being a first class doesn't make him/her error free. Correct him/her if you see anything wrong.
