If what you said is correct, then look at it this way: though the majority come from south east, which is your reason for not giving them their right. In the north and west where they are, they pay tax as well as engaging the indigenes as their staff. One of the rules of YouWiN which I know is that no awardee will employ his/her relative. In the northern part it was reported that so many people (indigenes) refused to enter the competition and those that entered could not convince their interviewers.
But mind you, the interviewers were mainly northerners as well as the monitors. SMEDAN which is somehow localised, will equally go to do their own monitoring. So whatever allegation or propaganda you carry about this nice programme will surely expose your ignorance. Again, your hatred for the south easterners is deep, yet you say ONE NIGERIA! Are you not deceiving yourself? The amount of tax these south easterners in paying in the north, west and other regions playing host to them cannot be quantified. At least appreciate them for that instead of being hostile.

For those saying trash on Youwin.the world bank validated the program and it shows that the program worked and the businesses are still there across the country.

I can challenge anyone that for every state in Nigeria, I can provide at least 20 Youwin funded businesses and there addresses for anyone to go and check it out. And I can guarantee that every awardee has a minimum of 3 staffs.

True is that there will be one out of every 50 that will behave like your 'someone' who will deviate from the original plan. Don't use that to rubbish the YOUWIN programme. Well at least one person was employed. Check yourself to know if you are not beefing your guy.

My dear, i will advice you to comment less on issues you are not really conversant with. YouWIN! Programme is one of the most transparent programs i've witnessed in Nigeria ever since i was born.. Many of the awardees are doing well, especially 1st and 2nd set of awardees cos i knw some couple of them in my locality...
I just pray federal gov't will do something urgently to salvage this situation because all of the awardees are Nigerians and graduates and deserves the grant award

I think the programme is the best that Nigeria has done with Empowerment and reducing employment in the country. I will strongly advise the current govt to continue or at least round this set up honourably.

Your post clearly shows that you kmow nothing about youwin, firstly, they have supervisors, secondly, they don't pay the grant all
at once but in batches and each payment must be duely accounted for by the awardee and certified by the monitor. That you know someone that missmanaged d fund makes the program a scam? No matter how wonderful a program is, you cant achieve 100.00% success. There would still be some few failures. What of Folix bakery there in that same Akure, Adesegun Farms in Ogbese (opposite Martna company ) and Adubiaro Farms in Emure Ile (all in Ondo state). These guys and many others are doing fine with the funds and are helping the economy. You can confirm those ones I mentioned. Why is it that it's only bad examples some ppl always see?

Youwin is not a fraud. Its one of the best thing to ever happen to Nigeria youth. This are great ideas which are birthed and have been creating employment in the country. Please the federal Government should intervene in to the issue.

In as much as I support their claim I don't buy the blackmail of thousands loosing job through them. Which job are they talking about? Is it the one yet to be created? Or their existing business. If it's their existing business they're talking about what if they didn't win at all. What about those who didn't win? will they just fold up because no grants from government

You don't understand the concept and why the release of the remaining funds is important to them. YouWin pays in batches, they don't pay at once. Let's say youwin a grant of 7 million. it's to be divided into 3 and paid in installments. There's milestone which if you don't achieve, you can't get the next payment. Let's say your first payment was to plant some crops and your second payment was to be used to create a processing facility, don't you think it's people that will work in the facility when finished? what of those that got the fund to start manufacturing and they have secured land, erect structure and are expecting the remaining fund to buy the required machines? A business that has not commenced full operation can sack from the current staff members.

FGN, FMF and all stakeholders should try and make sure these businesses don't die! A whole 1,500 businesses employing from the pool of unemployed Nigerian youths with some of the awardees employing up to 10. @MBuhari , @ProfOsinbajo , @Mrskemiadeosun should consider the importance of 1,500 new businesses! Increase in GDP, increase in exportation and reduction in importation which would help our naira, taxes bn paid/ to be paid (as the case may be) by these firms, etc, etc. Pls do something!

The govt will earmark 500 billion naira to waste on ill conceived welfare package but to fund a miserly 15 billion progrmme proven to create jobs, already earmarked in the previous budget of which we reliablely gathered over half the sum is being funded by world bank and DFID they cannot

I know a Youwin beneficiary who is just having a good time squandering the funds, he set up a business alright but that is where the story ended.

That the fund isn't completed doesn't mean the hasn't started. It's to be paid batchwise. Remember, more funds = expansion and expansion = more jobs for Nigerians

It is quite unfortunate that some people can allow their political affiliation to becloud their good sense of judgement. YouWin! remains about the best programme created in Nigeria to bring out the latent enterprenural potentials in Nigerian youth;a transparent business competition, a rigorous selection process involving an oral defence of your business plan before a panel of seasoned professionals in their various callings. The fact that some of us who participated in the competition did not win does not make the programme a scam as being insinuated in some quarters. I am one of the winners in YouWin!3 programme presently based in Oshogbo, Osun state. We should also bear it in mind that some of us left their paid jobs to enable them concentrate fully on their various businesses and become employers of labour in their host communities. Their vision in this respect is gradually becoming a mirage as a result of the continued delay in releasing the remaining 2nd and 3rd tranche funds to the awardees.

To put more of our youngsters to work, we must creat and sustain Jobs through young Nigerians. I don't know how best this can be done when the present youwin3 awardees are still waiting for the disbursement. The programme is loud ably, seen from the point that jobs need to be created. I think government should get serious about supporting home grown economy.

I know fast food restaurants, bakeries, pure water factories and many poultry/ Fish farms DAT are DOING EXCELLENTLY well.... Imagine DAt they get their full funds... They will do better, employ more staffs and continue contributing to economic growth of Nigeria

My wife and I left our jobs in Asaba, Delta state and relocated to Benue to start our Youwin Business. We got a location, renovated, and did all negotiations for equipment to start production, started the processes in Nafdac, made deal with suppliers and all, got our prospective customers anticipating. Now I feel ashamed when supermarkets we discussed with call me and ask when I will start supplying them plantain flour. We are now frustrated to the last. God be kind to Nigeria .
